1. Do you have friends that plays on it more than PC? If not then it might not be worth it, unless you only care about playing single player games, by yourself, then it might be nice to have.
2. You get a free PS plus membership trial code, but you can only use it once, there is no free ride after your 1st and only free trial.
3. Yes you can record your gameplay, I believe it cuts it in 15/20/30 mins apart, you can also stream with the PS4 as well, to twitch.
Thanks for the reply.
1. Yeah, and it's not just my friends, but also games like Call of Duty are completely dead and new content comes out a month earlier on PS4 and it's not dead on release. Graphics sure are better on PC than PS4 but there is no big difference to be honest. However, what I really hate is how awful games on PS3 look compared to PS4, and I don't want that to happen with PS4 anytime soon after a new PS comes out. That's why I asked if it was worth getting it at this point.
2. My friend who has a PS4 activated the free 2 days trail multiple times after he got one with the console lol.
3. Is it free? And is there any way to extend the recording duration to like...1 hour maybe?
1. If Call of Duty is mostly what you want to play, then you won't have a problem finding people on console for that. Fighting games, some FPS games, big titles coop games would be best for console due to the much larger audience.
2. If you're able to get a bunch of free trial codes, that's good, but no one really gives these out, and it's not worth buying trial code, unless someone selling them for 50 cents or less for each one, for 7 days. But none the less the codes can only be used once.
3. Recording is free, but streaming I don't remember, but I think it's free as well, no you can't extend the recording duration as I remember, also there's a app on the PS4 store where you can edit your videos as well.
Thanks again but my last question is, is it worth getting a PS4 now or it's too late because a PS5 might be coming out soon? There were a lot of games available on both PS3 and PS4 and obviously the PS3 version looked damn awful, and when that happens with PS4 I would probably stop buying games for it if I ever get PS4.
I wouldn't count on a PS5 being released any time soon. If i had to guess i would say we have at least another 2 years before a PS5 is released.
The PS4 has only been out for the past 3 and a half years if i'm correct & Sony usually releases a new console every 6-7 years going by the previous generations release dates.
If you do buy a Ps4, get the Ps4 Pro.
Keep in mind, all the games you have on the PS3, will not work, and will not transfer the digital games on your account over to the PS4, pretty much they want you to rebuy the games again just for the PS4, if you want to play them on the PS4, instead of the PS3. Such as Assassin Creed series, Resident Evil series, etc...
Everything is behind a paywall
The controllers build quality is complete crap
It lags like hell on every game, including singleplayer games that don't require internet
PS+ is waaaaay overpriced
PS Now is garbage
The graphics suck
The community sucks
Smaller game selection
And many more issues.
The only 1 reason remains to get a ps4 is - play Sony exclusive titles. And there are mostly 6-7 such exclusive games that are worth playing. Such as upcoming God of war, uncharted, killzone etc.
I also thought about buying ps4, but then I thought those exclusive games will last me mostly few months, after that ps4 will have no use to me. Because PC version of the same games are cheaper and has better graphics. Why would I buy ps4 version..?
The main problem with the PS4 lies with the controllers. Simply put they're a disaster, the build quality is very poor and they're notorious for mechanical failures. Microsoft controllers aren't much better, but at least you have the option of the Xbox One Elite controller - which is built like a tank.
Don't know why people even need a cross platform gaming. Steam is the father of all platform. If you need playing partner just go to related game forum and you will find enough people there to play with / make friends.
It does not matter if a game is being played by 100 people or 100000 people. Because you only need 10-20 people to keep yourself occupied.
- Playing with friends that couldn't or doesn't want to drop a lot of money they already have for a device, just to play with you, which is one of the biggest reasons why people want it. Someone already drop $400 for PS4, and you expect them to drop $400+ more for a PC after that?
- Giving new life back into dying games, without having to wait awhile, and work for it just to enjoy a game. Some games you won't get back to what it used to when it came out, as it takes time, and dedication, to find a large number of people that's willing to play with you, top of that it may only last a day, or two, before they start playing other games, which you have to do it all over again.
That's the reason Games Groups exist. If you join those groups you will always find some active player base, who plays that games regularly. And i don't think Ps4 player base is larger than Steam Player base. If a game is dying then it's dying in all platforms. And steam is more flexible than anyone, in finding a new partners.
Also I don't think anyone will know the exact numbers of the playerbase on any of the consoles, but I do know that theres more people playing on games that are very low player base on PC compare to console. Just because a game dying on one platform doesn't mean it's the same on other platforms.
Look at cod, bf, Street fighter, etc... More people on console play those compare to PC, and we both know that for a fact. Overtime games will die out on its own, due to newer game series, or better games, etc... Look at rocket league why you think they want cross platform on console? It's because numbers are falling off, they want people to be able to enjoy the game without having to put time and dedication just to do that. More people playing equals more sales, not only that makes the game community large player base last longer as well.
Idk why you hate the idea of cross platform, but the fact remains it helps everyone, only problem would be the console/game publishers that would be holding everyone back.
