Help: New graphics card does not work

So I just got my new Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Windforce OC 2g graphics card.
I uninstalled my old drivers, removed my old card and put the new one in, turn on the pc and my monitor says "no signal". My keyboard and mouse don't light up as well (tested: with the old card installed they light up immidiately after i start the PC).
The card also requires a PCI-e 6 pin to work. After trying out some stuff I found the following:
If i start the pc whilst the PCI-e 6 pin is in the card, the fans start to work but only for 2 seconds, then they turn off.
If I start the pc whilst the PCI-e 6 pin is NOT in the card, the fans start to work and continue to turn at low speed.

I think my PSU might be the problem, I have a Cooler Master Intel ATX 12V V2.31. The thing is supposed to give 600W. On the box of the graphics card it says "minimum required 300W, which is based on a pc configured with an intel core i7 3.2GHz CPU.
My CPU: AMD FX-6100 six-core 3.3GHz.

Can anybody tell me if this could indeed be the problem or that it might be something else, because I am not experienced enough to know for sure. So before I buy an expensive new PSU I would like to know for sure.

Regardless , the PCI-E connector must be connected ! The card needs power to work .

That card requires one 6 pin connector not 6+2

600W PSU should have at least two 6+2 pin power connectors . Try the second/other

If possible , try the card in a different computer before getting a new PSU

It is a prebuilt gaming pc. The old gpu = evga e-geforce 9600 gt.

Yup, i thought so. You most likely need a bios update for the motherboard to support new gpu's. And if the motherboard doesn't have any bios updates available, then you will not be able to use new gpu.

FX 6100 is not so old and supports PCI-E gen 2.0 therefore there should be no issue with PCI-E 3.0 cards unless the PCI-E slot is crippled

Of course , I know cases where new BIOS resolves the issue

Yup, i thought so. You most likely need a bios update for the motherboard to support new gpu's. And if the motherboard doesn't have any bios updates available, then you will not be able to use new gpu.

I also used to run this pc with the MSI AMD Radeon HD 7770 1gb, don't know if that makes any difference?

I don't know all the details. But i did have the exact same problem. I had a HP prebuilt pc that supported gpu's up to gtx600 series, nothing higher, at all. Everyone suggested to update bios, but the board was no longer supported by HP and had no bios updates available. Literally had to get a new board.

Yes, bios update should fix it, hopefully whoever made it still supports it and releases bios updates.

Make sure your display cable is plugged in all the way.

I didnt push mine in all the way and it took me 1 day to figure that out lol.

Make sure your display cable is plugged into the gpu too.

Make sure that the display type is set on the monitor. If its hdmi set the monitor to hdmi.

Make sure the gpu is plugged in properly.

Your psu should be fine. Iv got a 650x by corsair similar setup to you.

Updated bios with MSI live update 6, I believe I updated to version 1.3, but the card still doesnt work. I have an MSI 760GA-P43 (fx) motherboard. Someone knows if this motherboard is compatible with this gpu in the first place??
The weird thing is, when I have the new card installed my mouse and keyboard also won't work (they don't light up). Anyone know why this is happening?
