the i3 6100 and i5 6500 are better than fx-6300 so of course you will get much better fps with a better video card
also just a fyi although not a major improvment over 6XXX cpus intel has recently released the 7th gen cpus which might be better to get
For you as well, despite having a somewhat weak CPU, your GPU is what will limit performance for fairly modern games, but you'll also run into CPU bottlenecking if you upgrade your graphics card much further. In your position, it may be best to wait until you have the money to build a new PC.
You seriously need a real gpu, the 750ti barely makes it to entry level now.
You'd be smarter to take the money you're going to spend on a platform swap and get a min of gtx1050ti or aim for a gtx1060 6GB.
You've got 3 games in your library with one being a bench mark app so do you have plans to get games worthwhile to upgrade your pc for?
No reason not to, just make sure your power supply is will provide enough power before attempting any GPU upgrade. If you go 1050ti though you should be ok seeing how you are using a 750ti already.
1060 recommended wattage is 400W and 480 is 500W. So you will need a new power supply. 1050ti should work though.
You're better off with the 500-ish Watt PSU for a high power machine like this.
With a 350w psu the GTX1050ti 75w should work, the FX6300 and 1050ti only amount to 170w.
