Advice about XFX RX 480 8gb
I have been tempted to buy one because I keep seeing them at Best Buy, but I want to make sure it'll work okay with my current setup. I have an FX 8350, 970a-ds3p mobo, corsair cx 600m psu, and 16gb of corsair vengeance RAM.

its fine but get them from a place like amazon or newegg the prices at best buy are generally subpar
But, aside from price, it'll run alright with my CPU and psu? Temp wise should be alright, I have plenty of fans in my case.

it should be fine but just make sure you have enough room to fit it although uncommon some gpus wont fit certain cases but if its a standard atx case you should be fine

Yes
$240 RS version same as the one at bestbuy.

That the one I have. I have it paired with an FX6300 no problems here. The card is not real massive. The card length is actually slightly less than the length of my full size ATX motherboard.

edit: actually after taking a second look the shroud is slightly longer than the card, so it's about the same length as Full ATX board, but should fit pretty easy still.

I have a 380 in my case right now with plenty of room to spare. My case is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M ATX Mid-Tower Gaming Case.

In that case you're looking at about 20+ FPS gain going to the RX 480.

I'll take 20+ frames. Then I'll have to decide what I should upgrade next. Thanks for the help everyone, greatly appreciated!
Or look around for R9 390/390X perhaps; those might be found cheaper and will give approx same performance as a 480 8GB could.

If perhaps are you are limited to looking at BestBuy, due to having a card with them, that is understandable. If so, let us know so we can search through what BestBuy has to offer. Also please search for the BestBuy Ebay Store; they use that not just for currently available items, but older/over-stocked items being sold at a discount so the chain can get rid of them.

I was mostly going to pick up at Best Buy just because they have it in stock and I don't have to wait on shipping. Sounds dumb, but I just am impatient sometimes haha. Just wanted something that will work well with my current setup without requiring me to upgrade other parts right away. Long as I get a performance increase, without worrying about overheating or having to upgrade anything else at the moment I'll be happy.
Do you not use other places? I mean Amazon and Newegg are fairly quick.
Even when Newegg says like 5-7 days I get it in like 2-3 max, always have over the years, and thats with most of their stuff coming to me in MD, from Newegg who usually is shipping from CA or TN. Some do come from NJ also. Never seen a reason to pay for better shipping from them, that's for sure. A small wait is worth it for the pricing differences; BestBuy is a rip-off on virtually everything.

Thanks for the advice. I decided against getting it from Best Buy. But now I'm wondering, should I even upgrade my gpu first? Or is should I upgrade something else and worry about the graphics card later? Sorry, this is my first gaming PC and just trying to figure out what to upgrade and when.
There is nothing you really can upgrade.
Besides your current specs are fine, you just need a decent GPU to continue forward really is all.

Maybe an SSD and install Win10 64bit.
I have Windows 10 64 bit. I've had some people say I needed to upgrade my CPU or mobo, that's what I was most worried about.
