it states 3 memory with samsung b die with good performance.
Geil EVO X - GEX416GB3200C16DC [16-16-16-36 @ 1.35v]
G.Skill Trident Z - F4-3200C16D-16GTZR [16-18-18-36 @ 1.35v]
Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 VERSION 5.39 [16-18-18-36 @ 1.35v]
I plan to get the gigabyte ab350 gaming 3, I want to get the Corsair one (because it is available at my preferred store), the gigabyte has a supported memory list, but none of the above are listed in the supported list. Should I still go with Corsair?
The support list doesn't have the ones that is avialable at my preferred store.
Remember, 3200 is not always a guaranteed OC and you can get better performance setting @ 2666. I just hope to get 2933 from my Corsair. My 7700k system would not go above 2933. But, I have not checked for any new ASUS Z270 Prime-A bios updates or the memory QVL list recently.
I'm going to wait for the bios with the new AGESA microcode and then mess around with it.
Still better to just buy RAM such as 3000 or 3200; they can all run at lower speeds if needed.
However once more BIOS updates iron out these issues, then you will surely want that higher speed; like say 3200 for example.
Newer BIOS are already out for most boards; however Gigabyte is doing this very poorly and for this reason, I'd avoid all Ryzen Gigabyte boards at this time.
set it to 3200 mhz from bios settigns but it is working on 2133. should i wait until more bios updates are out?
Then it's not 3200; you obviously have no idea how this works.
If CPU-Z says it's at around 1067; then that is running at 2133, which is wrong.
At least, that is not 3200... you do understand this right?
Because I believe CL14 is with Samsung B-die. CL16 is probably Hynix. So you wont be able to run it at 3200 MHz untill there will be a stable RAM compatibility and only god knows when that will happen.
With Hynix you will need to use BCLK OC to get to 3,2.
Samsung B die rams run at 3,2 without any BCLK changes.
