Which motherboard to choose?
Hello steam,

I have been searching to find a full size ATX fm2+ motherboard
for my Athlon 880k, and to replace my small micro-ATX board.

So far, i have come to the conclusion that these are best options.

Keep in mind that i live in finland, and that the price of the ASUS A88X-PRO is 120€.
The ASUS A88X-PLUS/USB 3.1 is 20€ cheaper at 100€.

Thanks in advance :geel:

Well let me ask this why are you looking to replace, is the old board not performing tasks you need it to do, is it lacking features you need?
A micro board does not necessarily mean it is lower performance.
What motherboard do you have now so a comparison can be made. Also what computer case do you have, a full ATX MB may not even fit in it, that is another consideration.

Not sure why you would want to replace your old board. If youre looking for more performance, it will be poor no matter how much overclock you get. You will be better off buying the latest Intel and corresponding board.

You should wait for X370.

I got asus a68hm+ in a atx case. A68hm+ definetly lacks features.

It's AMD's new 300 series chipset for motherboards to be used with their upcoming Ryzen CPU's. Frankly I do not expect much from them if the past is any predictor.

What exactly in features are you looking for that your current board does not have. From looking at the specs (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/A68HMPLUS/specifications/) it has PCIe 3.0, USB 3.0, up to 10 usb ports 4 of them being USB 3.0, 8 channel audio, up to 32GB DDR3 2400MHz max memory. Only thing it is a little lax in is SATA with only 4 6Gb/s ports, is that what you are needing more of?
