AMD 9590 Overheating??
my cpu is around 70-75 degrees under load. Thermal Margin in Overdrive sometimes reaches -2 or -3? I have been having fps spike drops in GTA 5. Is my CPU too hot?

I had Turbo disable becasue it was freezing up my system. I used fan speed and got it down to 50-55 which greatly improved fps. Didnt get rid of it but def improved.

The AMD stock liquid coolers aren't the greatest ^.

Ps, if the mobo is the UD3 I wouldn't trust the vrm cooling to do a good enough job, with any luck you've got the UD7.

Wow 57 degrees. Yikes im going over. Ill check to see if water cooling is failing. My mobo is a Gigabyte 990 fxa. I understand that this cpu is hot but thats just ridiculous. Never going AMD again. Thanks all for the help, better get working to get those temps down.
Yeah underclock it to get safe temps until you fix it.

What case are you using?
Did you disassemble parts of your system or subject it to vibration?

I suggest getting a better water loop along with some high grade thermal paste and installing that. Of course, that's not going to help much if there isn't good airflow inside your case.

what's your mobo?? If you're running your 9590 hard with graphics files I'd keep an eye on the vrm temp which can be read from some software on some mobos. The fx processors draw a lot of electrical power and it's easy to overheat a vrrn circuit if it isn't designed properly to handle 8 core fx cpus, especially the high 220w tdp of the 9000 series. When the vrm overheats it drops the cpu frequency and vcore for a few seconds to cool the vrm and then reverts back to full load frequency for a few seconds and then drops down again to cool, then back up to full speed again. This cycle will continue as long as the vrm circuit is overheated and a heavy load is applied to it.

Probably because the cpu wouldn't necessarily overheat because the motherboard vrms are too hot.
there's a possibility if he's using a budget mobo
the 9590 is basically a overclocked 8320 it NEEDS highend water cooling and a high end mobo with powerful heatsinks

honestly id say get rid of it and overclock a fx 83XX cpu or ditch it for a intel i3 or higher

I don't think any 990FX mobos are budget, and I'm pretty sure they all support the 9590.

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3, ASRock 990FX Extreme3, Biostar TA990FXE.
Lazy to check all out, early rev GA-990FXA-UD3 dont support FX-9590, etc.

Do your homework before spreading false statements. Most of those mobos only support up to 140 TDP cpus.
Im confused now, my mobo doesnt support my cpu? I think I just have a crap cooling system and will try to replace that and see what happens.

There's nothing false in what I wrote. Not my fault you can't read or don't have the neurons to process it correctly.

no it can be the mobo when overclocking amd mobos you need to watch out for vrm overheating

That CPU is known for its high power usage and a high temperature.

it really is just a factory overclocked 8XX0 fx cpu i have no idea why they are trying to sell it as a different cpu class

the 220w tdp is too high for most boards. ofc it will fit all am3+ mobos, that's not the problem, but it might fry your mobos vrms or cause cpu stability problems if it's not built to endure the high tdp.

+1 and because it needs liquid cooling the fan is not also blowing on the vrms so they get VERY hot with a 9590
