Don't bother buying a GPU for a machine like that it will not fit in the case and the PSU will most likely not be powerfull enough since the PSU in those dell prebuilds only supply enough power for the stock configuration.
Start saving up for a whole new PC and don't buy old used prebuild Dells.
if you buy a desktop pc, at least you should have better performance than laptops!
with these cards, you re going to have less performance than a gaming notebook!
in desktop pc builds you must take in consideration another level of gpus (titanx for example)
I also am wondering what would happen if i bought a 75 w gpu and put it in a 35 w pcie slot. I am mostlikely buying the one with the 6 pin for power if i go with the gtx 1050 or the ti.
Will i be able to play the games i want smoothly, i know i wont have the best resolution.
Probably at midsettings and 720p
Here is a YouTube
Your i5 is also slightly better than their i3
Also next gen Nvidia cards probably will take another year
I have seen videos of people running the smaller profile gtx 1050 ti with the 35 wat slot. Is it straining their system, or not letting the card work to its full potential? Since the new nvidia cards wont come out for a while is it worth it to spend $175 on a gigabyte gtx 1050 ti gaming gpu since it has the 6 pin for power, i would also have to buy a new psu if i go this route so its going to be considerably more pricy. Is it worth the money, is the 1050 ti a good match for my cpu or even the regular 1050
Isnt the 1050 better than the 750? Its like the same price
A GT (not GTX) 1030 is NOT a gaming GPU and therefor for new PC builds even when on budget a terrible choice as you pretty much can trash it in a short time if you want to play higher then with lowest settings. So a used 750Ti goes for far less and still has way more performance. If you need an absolt low cost GPU you take a used one from older generations.
If you can afford then 1050 Ti is the lowest you should go nowadays as you mostly need more then 2GB VRAM.
Nvidia just release 2 month ago the Titan Xp and Volta is coming already. GTX-20 Gen. will proberly come this year already and might even in Q3.
Are any of these new processors being released im my budget of around 170 at most, or should i just go with 1050... and since my pcie slot is only rated for 35 watts, do i need ome with a 6 pin. I have seen youtube videos of people with the optiplex with the 1050 ti without 6 pin working. Just wondering if it caises strain on gpu or ehat the deal is.
well the GPU's are connected with pins to the PSU they dont collect all their power through the PCIe slot witha few exeptions like the 1050 and 3GB 1060. I seriosly doubt that they will be in your price range when released but then all other GPU's cost going to drop drastically. So if you dont want to wait for the release of the new GPU's go with a 1050 better yet with a 1050 Ti which has 4GB VRAM that also helps alot.
Thabks man, do you think the 1030 would hold me over till the prices drop. Just to play like overwatch and some other less graphcly intense games.
