Is there any FREE virtual machine program that runs Direct X 11?
(my sister has a couple of games herself on steam but she has a mac so you can see why im looking for a solution for her) i came accross VMware and Vurtuial box to use to run a 2nd os and first off virtualbox is SH!T at running game because it not only took 2 days to setup but to find out how to install the 3d driver in safe mod for windows 7, and that when you finaly get it installed it just has lines all over the place and dose not work properly so you can't see what your doing. anyway VM is a diffrent story and works great but ive come accros the problem on trying to run some other games for e.g. csgo and battlefeild 4. ive got a powerful pc that can run a virtual machine but the free VM software has left me for dust since it only supports up to direct X 9C which bf4 and csgo need at least direct X 10 so you can see my point. anyway is there any program or solution to finding a virtual machine program that supports direct X 11 or a fix for making VM work with direct X 11. By the way i don't want to buy a virtual machine program.

PC SPECS:
intel core i7 6700 HQ cpu 2.60 GHz
32 gb ram
Nvidia geforce gtx 1070
windows 10

sorry for any spelling misstakes or bad language but im just keen on finding out if there is a solution instead of buying a whole new gaming pc which will not be happening. im also running windows 7 in the VM.

Thanks

Virtualbox should support DX11. But it is still VM software so DX11 sofware might run but experience crashes.

I see people online saying that you need to install the guest additions add-on to get DX11 software to run properly.

I am not that familiar with Virtualbox I use VMware.

Can you explain this? YOu already have a monster gaming rig.. Install Windows 10 on it and be done with it.

VM cannot run DX11. DirectX11/OpenGL 4.x needs to have direct access to GPU registers which is impossible in VM, because it provides only virtualized graphics.

ok so no vm program can run direct x 11

Why do you want to run a VM with DX 11 support? Just play the games on your normal OS.

because my sister has a couple of games on steam but she recently got given a mac and her other pc had a decent graphics card but it but broke a couple weeks ago and her mac is a macbook air and has intel 6000 graphics card on it so my parents wont get a 2nd computer for her to use.

Can't you install Windows on the MAC with bootcamp and game on it? (I am not a MAC user I may be wrong)

yeh but the graphics card is the problem aswell

some games don't run verry well because of the graphics card

Using a VM will not change that.

Are you all living at the same house ?
Install those games to your computer and let your sister play them via streaming.
Is it possible ?

two people can't play the same game at the same time it wont allow it thats why i wanted the vm. but she could play them streaming but still not 2 people. although now if i cant run direct x 11 i might aswell just install steamOS because people say it is possible on VM. i guess thats my only option

Virtual machines are no good for running games in Windows. If you want to run a game in a VM, there is the method in the video above, or you'd need a Linux-based OS as the host OS(as Windows in incapable of providing GPU passthrough).

In either case, both methods require you to put some effort in, require an extra set of peripherals(or a KVM switch, at least), the VM(s) will need a dedicated GPU for it, and probably won't be worth it for just one game.
