Is there any FREE virtual machine program that runs Direct X 11?
(my sister has a couple of games herself on steam but she has a mac so you can see why im looking for a solution for her) i came accross VMware and Vurtuial box to use to run a 2nd os and first off virtualbox is SH!T at running game because it not only took 2 days to setup but to find out how to install the 3d driver in safe mod for windows 7, and that when you finaly get it installed it just has lines all over the place and dose not work properly so you can't see what your doing. anyway VM is a diffrent story and works great but ive come accros the problem on trying to run some other games for e.g. csgo and battlefeild 4. ive got a powerful pc that can run a virtual machine but the free VM software has left me for dust since it only supports up to direct X 9C which bf4 and csgo need at least direct X 10 so you can see my point. anyway is there any program or solution to finding a virtual machine program that supports direct X 11 or a fix for making VM work with direct X 11. By the way i don't want to buy a virtual machine program.

PC SPECS:
intel core i7 6700 HQ cpu 2.60 GHz
32 gb ram
Nvidia geforce gtx 1070
windows 10

sorry for any spelling misstakes or bad language but im just keen on finding out if there is a solution instead of buying a whole new gaming pc which will not be happening. im also running windows 7 in the VM.

Thanks

Why is bootcamp not an option?

for my sisters mac because even if i did her grapics card is not powerful her previous computer had a decent graphics card.

yeh but the graphics card is the problem aswell

some games don't run verry well because of the graphics card

In her case, the OS and all of that wont matter, the GPU is lacking and the only way to solve that is get a better PC.

As for now, it's only Parallels (which is not free) that has the support of DX11 and can run Bootcamp directly without a reboot.
That thread is over two years old. Let it rest if you can't add something meaningful.
uuh, doesnt mac have anything like wine? or cant steam on mac run dxvk or proton?.. because dxvk lets virtually any windows PC play on linux pretty smoothly.. and virtually everything on linux is open source and portable in some way

MAC doesn't support Vulkan, that is the main issue. Though there are projects like MoltonVK trying to solve this issue.

Proton used to compile for MAC, but it doesn't anymore.

ouch, i didnt think linux would become a viable gaming platform before mac
Why anyone would feel the need to ever buy anything with MacOS on it makes zero sense.

For the same reason why many people prefer iOS over Android.

Because "Apple".

linux will run on virtually ANY hardware.. you could probably install it on your mac instead of mac os, and just use wine with dxvk to play virtually any PC game.. there should be a video or a guide on it, if no mac solutions exist

That doesn't make any sense, period.
At least iOS has same or similar apps and games. MacOS is useless outside of Apple apps. So that means zero games.

At least buy a PC and wipe it and install Linux distro of choice.

the problem with virtual machines is that a virtual machine is NOT going to use your GPU or built in graphics the way you may think.. the virtual machine will have a virtual GPU that the OS installed in your virtual machine will recognize.. you're probably never going to get any really hardware 3D acceleration out of it.. maybe things have changed and I am mistaken, but i dont think you'll ever have a good gaming experience through a VM

i would really try to find an alternative to wine and DXVK on mac.. someone suggested a moltenVK project.. it may be worth into looking at that, or a different mac solution to do what wine/dxvk does for linux

First, no. Use OS X filter in the Steam store. Second, nobody buys Mac for gaming.
