Is my core temp broken?
Okey so i am thinking of overclocking my cpu a little so i want see the temp. So i download Core Temp and its saying that my cpu is 13 C and then two seconds later it says 24 C.

It just keeps on doing this my first guess is that the cpu temprature meter is broken.

I highly dowt my AMD FX 8350 is 13 C idle.

Either the software is wrong, the sensor is broken or you live on the north pole and have your window open.

Idle temps are always inaccurate on FX CPUs.

There is an internal offset that normalizes above 40C.

No it is because all apps are wrong with AMD; until you reach above 30*C or so.

use something other than Core Temp, Core Temp has always been trash.

HWMonitor should do the trick

ASUS has AI Suite, try that from the Motherboard model website
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/HelpDesk_Download
You can even controller your Motherboard fan headers with this.

Also try OpenHardwareMonitor.org
This is very similar to CPUID's HWMonitor, but in most cases, better.
As it can run at OS startup, auto minimize, etc.
Piriform Speccy[www.piriform.com] can also be configured to capture/run in background and provide a CPU Temp Icon right in Notification Bar for easy viewing.
