Upgrading my pc
I have a Dell Vostro 260s that i am intrested in upgrading. The only problem is that I have no one to help me. So first, if you look at the specs, i know i need to get a new cpu and i dont know if that will cause some heating problems. Then i have to buy a new heat sink. Then i have to buy more and use more money. Not only that, i need to get a gpu, but i cant tell if my computer has a pcie slot, well i think i do but i cant tell if it is one. Also, some people are saying i need more ram, and possibly a new monitor. Also, i need a new psu, but i dont know which one or how many watts. Since im getting really confused now, can someone just explain to me more info i need to know, or possibly help me find the parts or just give me a build you would recommend because im really new at this building and upgrading internal component stuff? There is almost no website or person that i know that can actually help me. Thank you,

Its a very old prebuilt Dell nothing meaningful you can upgrade here you will need to buy a new PC.

What is your budget? And download and run SPECCY then copy/paste your specs to this thread.
looking at the website for it it looks like you wont be able to add a graphics card to it. Your power supply probably wont have the right connectors either so its better to just start over i think with different computer
Forget it, it's extra slim case with specialized power supply, anything you could do with it (and it aint much) would be only waste of money.
Got to understand one thing - it's not gaming computer in any capacity or form, it's meant for text processing, office work, web browsing.

I suspected it was a extra slim case; no normal GPU will fit in it only weak and old GPUs like the AMD m230 will fit and only if you change the bracked thing (IDK what it is called) on the back of the GPU for a smaller one.

So sell this PC and start saving up for a new PC and buy this:

Operating system:
Windows 10 pro 64 bit
CPU:
Intel core i3 2120 @ 3.30 GHz
Sandy Bridge 32mm technology
RAM:
4.00 gb dual channel DDR3 @ 665 MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard:
Dell inc. 0GDG8Y (CPU 1)
Graphics:
D48n-E0 (1920x1080@59hz)
Intel HD graphics (Dell)
Storage:
232 GB Western Digital WDC WD2500AAKX-753CA1 ATA Device (SATA)
Optical drives:
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GH70N ATA DEVICE
Audio:
High definition audio device

What would happen if i got a new case and motherboard and kind of made my own computer with some of the desktop parts from the vostro 260s, would that fix some issues? Is there any method that could help fix the problem.

You will need everything new.

-New CPUs use a different socket
-The PSU is not powerfull enough.
-You will need a new mobo
-You will need new RAM.
-Your current mobo will probably not fit in a normal case.

You will need a whole new PC.
Yea thats what i basically mean, make a new computer. Anyway the sound is broken on the desktop. Thx for the save of money,

Also, about how much would it cost to make a simple pretty decent computer that can run csgo at over 60fps? Im not willing to spend over a thousand dollars because i cant, and i dont play games like bo3. Also i play csgo on pretty low graphics.

Cheapest game PC you can build, can play CSGO at ultra settings 120+ fps.

There is nothing to use from your old PC.

This would run pretty much anything decent enough with 1080p monitor, not just CS GO but most modern games too.
Wait is this a full computer?

Yes, everything you need to put one together yourself, part from mouse/keyboard and monitor.

I swapped the graphics card to better one in this build, pretty good price for newr version of this card with little better performance appeared at Newegg:
