Fix corrupt XINPUT1_3.DLL
So I was having issues with Windows 10 updating. I ended up doing the a fresh install. Everything is fine and up to date. Download some steam games and nothing launches from desktop shortcut. Go to steam folder and try to launch the exe's from their. Fails to load and I get the error in the picture linked below:

Anyways, I googled that DLL and download it from some site. And then everything seemed fine right? Here, from the few games I have, if I run them in 64-bit mode they will launch and run fine. But the 32-bit EXE's will not run. I get that exact same error. I'm not sure why the heck that file got corrupt but I remember during my first launch of Day Z something happened with the .NET stuff and I ended up having to reinstall all that. Reinstalled DirectX but I still got this error. So again, it works with the 64 bit but not 32 bit. Perhaps someone can help me find the correct one or share theirs. I'm running the latest version of Window 10 Pro Build 15063 10.0.15063.

Just wanted to share I found a fix. This worked for me confirmed.

Step 1: Delete the XINPUT1_3.dll file from both the System32 file and the SysWOW64 file. You can delete these by:

1) Move your mouse into a corner on the right side of the screen, and select "Search"
2) Type in "C:" then hit enter.

3) Navigate to the "Windows folder", then go into the System32 folders and SysWOW64 folders, and delete the DLL files.

4) Restart your PC.
Once that's done, move on to..

Step 2: Delete the X3DAudio1_7.dll file from the same locations, System32 and SysWOW64. Refer to the directions above, and do the same for this file.

Then, restart your PC.

Step 3: Go the link as follows and reinstall DirectX web installer:

Once it is installed, restart your computer.

Once your computer is booted back up ,your issue should be fixed.

Just use this installer: it is the full one and will replace all files.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

If you having any corrupt files; that is bad... run diagnostics on your RAM and Drives to ensure those check out.

run CHKDSK /R on drives to verify them and mark off any bad sectors

run SFC /SCANNOW to verify core OS files

I tried that before man. And it didn't work. The only method that worked was the one I posted above for me.

For some, maybe your method works but for me. What I posted there was the only thing that worked.

Well it does help to delete the corrupted file(s) first.

But the one I linked completely reinstalls all DX files, present on the system or not.
The one you linked only downloads missing or outdated DX files.

I tried the one you linked before and it did no good. For whatever the reason, I had to delete those select files first then run the DirectX installs.

Well yea, cause they were corrupted; u can't just recopy over a corrupted file and have that magically be a fix.

Who mentioned anything referring to that location?

Nasty stated many times where the files are located; under
C:\Windows\System32
C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Like I said, after repeated attempts of reinstalling it did not work for me. In my main post you will find what did work for me.

I was doing some recon based on something else I found, was simply asking a question. Thanks for the response-no-response. Helpful as a Motha.

Never google a DLL file; get it from the source.
For example, if reinstalling DX Redist June 2010 didn't do the trick, simply go unpack through those files and pick out the file that IS corrupted on your system and replace it manually, however u should do that kind of file replacement, while running Windows in Safe Mode.

Out of curiosity, Are you in the habit of cancelling steam's directx and other installs when a game first runs?

These will not happen unless you run Steam via the Run As Admin option; something folks should do, always, but are not doing.

No, but for whatever reason anytime windows 10 has a big update it would screw me up. Since my last reinstall I thought I was good. Then, I started reinstalling my steam games and they would give me those errors.

NOTE: I have a regular 1TB HDD I use to store most my games on. And the more important games go on my SSD. However, when installing to the regular HDD it would get a disk write error commonly. So part of me wants to believe that HDD is no good. But mind you, my system files are on the SSD.

Windows Updates don't have anything to do with DX files.
You install WinOS, then the DirectX Redist June 2010 and that's that. I've done that since WinXP and never had such issues like you speak of. Maybe if folks would stop installing Steam into program files, you'd never had issues, cause it should never go there.
