Better get to clocking then! I'm sure those 8 cores will boost your score.
There is no "better" at this point; they are virtually equal when comes to gaming.
It's about the same as comparing certain AMD GPU to certain NVIDIA GPU; even when nearly equal, one will usually be better than the other, at certain things; and vice-versa
Sorry, but it's been pretty clearly established that the i7s are better at gaming. I think the R7 is better in one game, Deus Ex Mankind Divided. If you're just doing gaming like me, i7 is the best.

with my rx480 and phenom II processor i'm getting better scores than people with i5s and i7s. if the cpu played a big role in the score, they should be destroying me. i think his better score probably has more to do with his higher gpu overclock.
i'm getting bigger scores on 1080p high and extreme also. my suspicion is that vram probably does play a big part as i'm able to overclock my vram to 2250 without raising voltage.
