I need to install direct x on a pc without internet
A friend of mine has been left without internet for many months(since November ) and he just phonoed me now and told me that some games dont run because they need latest version of direct x installed. Now if i download direct xfro microsofr website and then copy it to a external HDD and give it to him so he can install it from the external HDD to his pc will the installation be done or since he dont have internet and the installer will not be able to downlaod the files it needs it will not run? He bought the pc on October and the games that he has issues so far are Just cause3 and doom. They say that some dll files are missing. Or should i just give him the missing dll files and then he copy them on system 32?

DirectX should be included with any modern game.

It is impossible to install any new games now because as i said he dont have internet for so many months and since most games needs acttivation on steam or uplay or origin he cant install anything new.
from an internet connected PC/tablet/phone/library PC, download latest redistributable DirectX 9.0c from microsoft or filehippo.com and use it to install to target PC.

That what i will do i will downlaod it from microsfot website then copy it to my external HDD and give the HDD to him so he can install it from there to his pc by connecting the HDD to his pc and install from there. Also why downlooad 9c and not dx12?

there no dx12 redist - dx 12 built-in in W10 dx, 11 - in W7 dx 10 in WVista

That why i find strange that while he bought his pc on October 2016(Core i5 6600k GTX 1070 SI ARMOR 16 GB DDR4 2800 MHZ WINDOWS 10 HOME ) it dosent have latest version of DX 12.. I realy realy got suprised when he told md that. He might have internet again on May but he is not sure. The issue is that he wants to play the games right now and dont have to wait for whenever he will have internet again. Ok then should i download dx11 redist and give it to him? Since those games with those errors are DX11 games it means that there is something missing from dx11.... But why?! Dosent dx12 is compatible with dx11?

nothing strange if he used pirated distro or install it with pirated games or install from Gold version Windows distributive (without SP) and don't have internet

DX 11.1 is Platform Update for W7
DX 11.0 is Update for Windows Vista for x64\x86-based Systems (KB971512)

If a game requires something like a specific version of DirectX or a Visual C++ runtime (or something of that sort) it should be included somewhere in the game's install folder, typically in a folder called Redist or _CommonRedist.

He bought windows from the same shop he also bought the pc. I saw it because we went together to help him buying since until then he was console only gamers and he nneded my help to choose a strong pc. So no pirated windows.

he should grab his PC, take it to the shop and ask them to update his win 10, drivers and directX

What is even the point? If you don't have internet you can't even load up your games; the system is virtually unusable for the most part without internet.

You generally can not do offline installers if you have Win10; cause things like dot-NET Framework, to install this requires Win10 get this from Windows Updates.

If his games are already on the system fully; like JC3 for example; then the DirectX Redist and any needed Visual C++ Runtimes are already included in the game folder, just go there and then run the installers.

He just sent me a message and told me the neames of the dll files that Just cause 3 says it is missing d3ddx9_39.dll and MSVCR 100. dll. I downloaded them and copy them to HDD. But tell me if there are others important dll files that could be missing and are needed for games so i download them too just to make sure that he will not have any more issues with games due to missing files. I will give it to him in 6 hours when we meet.

Don't download and insert just the DLL files something says is missing; reinstall what that goes to. Such as DirectX Redist June 2010 and the accociated Visual C++ Runtime Redist Package

MSVCR100.dll = Visual C++ 2010
https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=8328
https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=13523
*For 64bit OS, install both versions of any Visual C++ Runtime you need (both x86 and x64)

After reinstalling DirectX, Visual C++, etc... Restart Windows and then try loading into the Game (or other App that had errors before) and see that the issue is cleared up.

Ok now will both visual c and direct x be able to fully installed on his pc without internet?
