But honestly get the 1070 it's the 1440p sweet spot of GPUs
can a 1070 really do 1440 on 144hz on aaa games??
im still building it, not too sure on rest of parts yet as im not sure if i want to overclock
not building it i meant looking for parts to order
With such a 144Hz display, you could pick the lower refresh rate if you really wanted to, course I see no need to do that though. But 144Hz at 1080p with the screen being 1440p/60Hz native, LOL nope not gonna happen. Get 1440p/144Hz then you will have such options. Overall, if it is a 144Hz supporting screen, then just use that for everything. It doesn't matter what your FPS is really.
No it cannot. I can't even get BF1 past a steady 70 fps on the larger maps on medium settings. I have a 1070 with a 7600k. My monitor is a 27 inch 1440p 144Hz G-sync IPS.
so you get bf1 70 fps with 1440p on medium settings? because games like those i'd rather have 1080p and 144hz
The FPS does not matter in terms of smoothness when you are talking better quality monitors with say IPS panel + 144Hz; even at 60 FPS it is butter smooth. Obviously it would feel sluggish below a certain range in some game engines, like that 30-40 FPS range perhaps.
my only issue is appearently 1440p sucks at 24 inch and i think 27inch is a bit too big as i cant sit anywhere further away from 2-3 feet away from the screen :/
yeah - 60 fps is amazing anyway :)
be any good?
1080p looks like trash on a 27 inch monitor.
Make sure you get G-sync with the 144Hz monitor. It's almost a must.
get that! No not use 1080p. I have 1440p monitor(24'' 1440p 60 hz) and 1080 looks ugly on it! Use it only on 1440p with each game.
I have a very similar 1440p monitor! DELLP2416D. It is the same thing the only difference is that mine 60 hz instead of 144hz . It is great yes! Go and buy it. But i would recomend DELLP2416D instead of any 144 hz 1440p since not even 1080 ti can run 144fps max settings 1440p yet. But best solution will be a 27'' 4k 60 hz for 1080 ti.
I can't afford the titan :( but I don't need max graphics at 144 fps in all games. I just want more than 60 in competition games like Csgo which is why I'm getting a 144hz moniter. The rest not so competitive games I don't mind 60 fps
