Best AM4 CPU Cooler?

I'm getting a Ryzen 5 1600X soon, and I have no idea what cooler to buy. I know I want an air cooler, but all of the coolers look similar and I don't know what's good and what isn't. Help?

Just use the stock one they are pretty good. You can even do some overclocking with it.

Yes honestly those coolers are fine; not terrible like the Intel or previous-gen AMD ones folks are used to.

Just ensure good airflow throughout your Case and it should be fine.
Good idea to also wipe off pre-installed paste from stock coolers and use your own paste too, like AS5 or MX4

Until they get tested no one knows as it's a new product and the only thing you could go by right now is from the r7 ones.

The 1600X doesn't come with a cooler. That's the 1600.

AM4 hasn't been around long enough to determine the "best" cooler. Stock cooler is fine.

The 1600X doesn't have a cooler! I wouldn't be asking this if it came with that great stock cooler.

I checked some 1700x unboxing videos and it appears you are right. I assumed all Ryzen CPU's came with a stock cooler because they all come in these huge boxes. And AMD made some crazy RGB coolers I assumed they came with the high-end CPU's.

Overall, if you find the official AM4 supported coolers are lacking still when you go to build your new Ryzen based system; maybe just get a 1600 CPU, which will have a cooler and still be a very good CPU.

I can't run the link due to craptop, but I spy the word "Noctua" on there. Noctua coolers are super expensive and I would rather use that premium payment on other things, like a case. Are there are good coolers in the $30-$50 range?

EDIT: I saw your edit so I want to include this: I'm getting a 1600X since I want the higher out-of-the-box speeds since I'm a noob at OCing.
