ibuypower and cyberpower are both overpriced and generally use crap components.

Cheaper and with known good components. Could be made cheaper/better by someone else.

Yeah I would need to watch a few youtube videos to learn how to build a gaming pc, Ive never done one before. Did you click on the link by any chance? It seems like a pretty good deal considering its 100 off. I was looking at this and the alienware aurora r6 but with a 1070. I know Alienware has been around a while and is known to be a good brand but the specs are lower than the ibuypower.

Yes I did that's why the one I listed is virtually the same, but with actual known components.

Aliendell/ibuypower/cyberpower all use cheap components. As cheap as they can to make as much money as they can.

So no it's not worth it if you have any aptitude with putting anything together.

Alienware is known to be an overpriced Dell in a cool case with poor cooling.

As Snapjak said, build your own and save money while also ending up with far better quality components.

I see, thanks

Building a PC is a lot less daunting than it seems, especially when you break down a PC to it's main parts and locate what PSU cables and case cables go where

I always mess up the power/hdd light/case speaker :^)
Had it working on my last motherboard. Installed an MSI board and now my speaker and power light are off :D

Don't get a i7 unless you do heavy lifting other than gaming. It's a waste of money. Get a good i5 and use the rest on a good cooling solution or some good headphones.

Do you know the motherboard model and psu? The mobo is an msi it seems but dont know model number. usually the psu's in the higher end prebuilts from ibuypower/cyberpowerpc use 80+ / 600w psu. cyberpowerpc uses thermaltake majority of the time on these prebuilts..

Honestly if you dont want to deal with ordering from multiple online vendors, this seems like a decent deal. esp if you can just head over and pick it up.

edit:

Found this in a review on the bb site. supposedly the mobo is msi z270 and the exact gpu model is the msi gtx1080 armor 8gb oc

edit: just make sure u know which components u are getting as these companies use whichever is available at the time of build. so u might get a different brand gpu if that makes any difference

It does seem like a good deal seeing that's it's 100 off, I'm also considering the Alienware aurora r6 which at this time is 100 off but it has a 1070 and not a 1080 as in the ibuypower. I'm not sure how much of a performance difference it is between these two cards.

Alienware is the brand to buy if you want to be laughed at. I know you are new to PC building but please don't fall into the depths of Alienware Hell

Seriously, hasn't been good since Dell bought the brand and the original guys went and formed a new company iirc(Origin wasn't it?).

I feel that you should get an i7 if you have the money. It's better to future proof than to go the cheap route. I made that mistake by going with an AMD FX 8350

Who's going to laugh? Some unemployed mouth-breathers on Steam? OP buy what suits you.

It doesn't future proof anything. The i7 uses hyperthreading which 95% of games do not use and benchmarks give you about an extra 2-3 fps. Its usually for doing things like design and editing of video, but if you're a video game player then i7 is a waste of money. It's $140 more for 2 fps in games. Money is better spent overlocking the i5.

People who realises that buying anything from Alienware is a complete ripoff will laugh. They are pretty much a PC meme at this point. Theres even servers on Just Cause 2 Multiplayer mod that ban users who say Alienware in chat

Wrong, that's outdated information: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-intel-kaby-lake-core-i7-7700k-review

The i7 also gives a smoother gaming experience in my experience. I've had i5-6600K, i7-6700K, and i7-7700K. The i7s have had higher minimum framerates and completely removed stuttering I was having with an i5 and GTX 1070.
