Alienware aurora r6 with gtx 1070 any good?
Hi I was looking into this gaming pc, is this any good? It has a 7th gen i7 processor and a gtx 1070. Its currently 1399 at Best Buy, here's a link to the description.

Alienware is overpriced and they usually skip on quality PSU and cooling to make the pc cheaper. Build a PC yourself its cheaper and easy to do. Like some of the others will say "avoid prebuild like the plague".

Alienware is a bit overpriced as stated above. You will be paying extra basically just for the brand name. The new Aurora does have an 850W power supply and liquid cooling as options if you customize one on the Dell/Alienware website, but I don't know that Best Buy offers these options (I kind of doubt they do). I looked into this unit briefly, as I am in the process of getting a new gaming PC myself. I decided to go another direction to allow for more customization both now and in the future, as the Aurora's design doesn't leave you a lot of room to add in many additional components.

From my onw experience, you should stay away from Dell/Alienware. Cooling solution is terrible on my current laptop since the bios is programmed to make it silent which is really incomprehensible. I had to install fans on the outside so the CPU doesn't overheat/throttle. First time use in a game my CPU came close to max temperature (TJUNCTION - 100°C).

Their solution was basically, after having tons of failed bios updates which didn't improve the fan profile, that we should use third party software like HWiNFO and have the fans run at full speed at all times. I did some research after that and other users have problems aswell and it's not the only laptop model.

If it really needs to be a laptop, avoid this company at all cost.

How would you compare this Alienware to this, ibuypower bb931? It comes with a gtx 1080 and an 7th gen i7. Here's a link,

All prebuilt PCs are usually overpriced by 100 to 200 bucks, skimping out on a good PSU in the process. As said above, I would build my own, as it is cheaper, fun, and a great experience overall.

I've heard IBP's customer service is ♥♥♥♥, and that you have to pay like 100 shipping

Hey did you click on the link by any chance? It says this is liquid cooled while the Alienware is not. Also this has a 1080 while the Alienware has a gtx 1070. I'm not exactly sure what the performance difference will be between these two at 1440p. The ibuypower is a little more in price but has better specs. I'm just not really sure of the brand.
