GPU Temps reaching 80 degrees when playing tf2

when my gpu is under heavy load (Rust, Space Engineers) it reaches 75 degrees when playing an not so heavy load ( Tf2, Simcity 5) it reaches 61- 70 degrees

and when idle it sits around 60 - 61

i installed a new update for crimson ReLive (the Gpu driver) (Driver version 17.2.1) and all of a sudden my gpu is showing over 80 degrees temps while playing tf2

here are my computer specs

-Intell Pentium Dual-Core E5400 @ 2.70 GHz (with 200 MHz bus speed) (1.200V)

-8GB in dual array (DC mode Symmetric) (Cycle Time of 15 clocks and Row Refrech Cycle Time of 64 Clocks)

-Amd Radeon R7 200 series (1024 mb GDDR5 Vram @ 1125 mhz) and the core clock @ 800 MHZ (PCI Express 2.0 x16) (bus type PCI 3.0)

if somone could figure out how or what causes the Gpu temps to go crazy Please let me know.

The 200 series can run quite hot so that is normal.

Have you tried cleaning the dust out of your computer? (Use a can of compressed air)

I had an R7 260X, and it never hit 80C in the three years I used it. Definitely something boosting your temps. 60C is really high for idle.

80 degrees isnt that bad. Also space engineers is more CPU intensive than GPU. Believe me 80 isnt bad at all, quite normal actually. My i5 4690k @ 4.6GHz gets up to 98 degrees and thats only after 10 seconds of y Crusher

OP here is talking about his GPU not his CPU. And if your i5 4690k was running at 98c it would thermal throttle like ♥♥♥♥ freezing your whole PC and turning itself off to prevent damage to the CPU. Either your monitoring software is wrong or you have a bad sensor in your CPU but that is nothing to worry about.

yes and on top of that my GPU hit 80 on Tf2 a not so resource demanding game

80c is normal for the AMD Radeon R7 200 series GPU's. Some go to 90-100c even.

Is this a sff case?

I had one and that wasn't my experience.

im assuming this is an r7 250 and i can honestly say its not quite normal to reach 80c with those cards HOWEVER there is some r7 250 cards with just a heatsink/heatpipe (silent cards) and those will run hotter its a safe temp but a little high if it has a heatsink and fan..

also its especially hot when running with a pentium e5400 2.7ghz dual core 775 as that cpu is as old as the hills/quite slow and will not get the most out of that card

Sounds normal to me op.

If you wanted a cooler card, you should've bought an aftermarket card.
For example:
Vanilla 290x = 90c
Sapphire 390 = 70c (75 when oced)
They're more or less the same card, the 390 just has higher vram and faster clocks.

You are right to worry about idle temps though. That's double it's supposed to. Are you running multiple monitors? Multiple monitors drastically increase your "idle" temps because the vram is constantly in use.
1 monitor on mine = 35c
2 monitor idle = 52c

80C is typically normal for a graphics card, ! of my 780ti's at 1.2ghz hits 84C playing GTA4. Just make sure you have fresh air being pulled in from somewhere in the case for the best results.

I'd say a little over 90 - 95C is where I'd look into something to cool the card.

yes i know that i could got a better card but at the time of buyying it i was taking my first steps in to the pc builder world.

its a low profile case

and i disconnected one Monitor and i cleaned all the dust out i could and the tems went down like crazy from 61 degrees idle to 45 degrees and 60 when under ''heavy'' load (war thunder high settings)

Why the need for concern? 80*C... is that all?
Seriously folks, GPUs (even Laptops) are made for this kind of range, it's nothing to worry about unless it is peaking towards 90*C+

Plus it is AMD, which just run hotter, period.

Blow out the dust, add more Case Fans if needed.
Use MSI Afterburner and manually crank up the GPU Fan if you need to prior to launching games.

^ That is a mistake for any Gaming oriented PC, never do it. Seriously it would run cooling with the guts sitting out on a box. It's being suffocated. It's like $20-30 for a decent ATX MidTower case w/ fans included.
