The STRIX 1080 Ti isn't that great imo. Good cooling, but not much of a factory OC.

But yeah i am considering doing the same. My GTX1080 FE is almost a year old, but it was always too weak from the day i got it. Cannot even handle 1440p 144hz.

But the prices for 1080ti are crazy. Will probably wait for a while. Not going to pay more than £700.

Yea prices in Europe are crazy. You should buy used I just bought 1080 asus strix for 400 euro. just get 2 used 1080's instead of one 1080ti its cheaper.

I second that. I never recommend SLI. A single more powerful gpu Is better in every way, less heat an dower consumption and you don't have to worry about games not having SLI support

If you play games in 4k ultra like i do, you require Sli, fair enough, there can be some issues in some games, but up to now, for all games i play in 4k, one card does not cut the mustard, i have two Inno3D GTX 1080's iChill x4's and have pre-ordered two Inno3D GTX 1080Ti iChiLL X4, they have a better boost clock the a lot of the aftermarket 1080ti's who's manufactureres have published their specs.

In my experience, folk who flame Sli are jealous as they cannot afford it.. :Finger2:

I know SLI is garbage but still if I needed to choose I would just get 2 1080's instead of 1 1080ti.

A single 1080ti is more than capable of running all games at 40-60fps unless they're poorly optimised games which ubisoft may put out for example.
Personally I've tried SLI in the past and would never do it again.
I own a 1080ti and as much as I would love another I just can't bring myself to do it again.

Yes, but not in 4k, once you start playing in that resolution, 1080 and even 1440 look inferior to me..

I even messed about with Sniper Elite 4, and got just under 6K resolution with 2 1080's in sli, no way can you get that on a single card, and it looked amazing.. :)

I've been playing at 4k with no problems on a single 1080ti. Even benchmarks online confirm that the 1080ti is capable or 2160p at between 40-60fps depending on the title. A few games I've tested at 4k so far are Dishonored 2, TW3, BAK, for Honor, Mass Effect Andromeda and a ton others

But that is not proper 4k, proper 4k is 4096x2160 and not 2160p.. :)
