Headphone volume wheel problem
I'm having problems with the volume wheel on my Beexcellent headphones where the sound is only coming out the right ear. Before I could do a temp fix by wiggling the wheel a bit side to side. Now no matter what I do the sound in the left ear is completely gone.

It is probably the jack which is broken. Have you tried other devices?

The wheel contacts may be broken or need cleaning. You may want to buy something like this

Is the wheel on the headphones themselves or on the line? If it's on the line you can just cut it out completely and solder the wires together (this may or may not be extremely difficult depending on the quality of the wire and whether it's resin coated or not) and control volume with the pc or keyboard.

If you want to retain the volume control you could try repairing it or buy another compatible one, I still have as a backup a usb headset that's had a complete rewire and been re-soldered to the in line volume control. It's ugly as crap and covered in electrical tape but it works. I had to break open the volume control unit and re-solder all the wires from the headset end and solder the other end to the mic and headphone using a telephone rj15 cable.

So if I just buy another cord with sound control will the one attached to my headphones affect it? (Will sound still only be coming out my right ear?)
