i7 6950x vs E5-2699 V4 x2 for gaming Which is better?
Just out of curiousity, for gaming which would be better.
i7 6950x which has 10 cores 20 threads
or
E5-2699 V4 x2 which has 20 cores and 40 threads

I know that core count and thread count doesnt affect performance that much but seeming that they're basically the highest end Xeons I wonder how they compete against the i7 6950x

What are you using it for?

Why would you need a 10 core 20 thread or a 20 core 40 thread CPU in the first place?

We already know anything above 4 cores and 8 threads will not do very well in gaming.
