'No Signal' After Installing New GPU! Please Help!
Hello, everyone, I've recently made the purchase of an EVGA GTX 1050 Single Fan to replace my Asus GTX 750 Single Fan that came with my Asus ROG G20AJ (i5 Edition). After I installed the GPU, I noticed it had no VGA ports! So I got a ride and picked up a used DVI cord, but when I returned, plugged in the DVI cord (My monitor doesn't support HDMI) but there was no signal on the monitor! Even after switching back to the old 750 and the back again several times still nothing! Even if I switched back to the GTX 750 *and* used the old VGA cord! Also, I forgot to install the drivers for the 1050 (Probs the problem) I currently have an HDMI to VGA adapter on the way so I can plug in my monitor from the mobo instead so I can install the driver. (Because the current drives are ASUS drivers and not EVGA ) So has any got any suggestions? DO you think my theory is right? Please reply for help, I have 47 steam games and thousands of dollars that I can't lose in this. Thank you for your time...

driver probably isn't the issue, does gpu require its own power cable? if it's black screen with no boot indication (hdd light not flashing) it's possibly hardware related, is everything plugged in? did you disconnect power to the power supply before installing the new card?

Plug in the 1050 and remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard
(This[plzcdn.com] is a CMOS battery) and after a few minutes put the battery back in and turn on the computer. That will probably fix your problem.

Also what motherboard do you have?

VGA isn't used anymore because it is OLD and only good up to a resolution of ±1000x1000.

There are no Asus and EVGA drivers there are only Nvidia drivers..

The GPU looked like thier was no where to put a 6 or 8 pin. No their was a black screen but all my LEDs turned on, hdd lights, flash drive, etc. What do you mean by disconnect power to PSU? I unplugged the computer before doing it.

Power isnt the problem the 1050 takes everything it needs directly from the mobo.

Let me go right down the list of things you said: The 1050 was a single fan (idk if that will help or not just wanted to mention it was single fan) but looked to have no-where to plug in a 6 or 8 pin. Will that CMOS battery thing really work? If so (I will test in a few) then the answer has been in front of me all along. I don't know my mobo, it came stock with my Asus ROG G20AJ (i5 edition)

Also didn't know that about VGA, will be swiftly switching to DVI (know the resolution 4 dat?)
Thanks for the help I will see if that CMOS battery thing will work. Again no way to plug in the GPU

The 1050 doesn't need a extra power cable.

The PC is probably just confused remove the CMOS for a few minutes that will reset the BIOS.

DVI is a improvement but DVI is also already quite old all new monitors have HDMI and Displayport.

Also make sure the card is seated properly.

Adapters will downgrade the quality of the signal to VGA or DVI a adapter will not make any difference. Just keep using DVI.

Alright thank you sir, I will check out this battery in a sec, and what will i do with it when i find it? take it out?

Yes just take it out then wait a few minutes and put it back in.

Here is a video that shows you how to (you don't need a new battery just put back the old one):

If ya could, look up an Asus ROG G20AJ something like taking out a GPU, because I can't find it, it's annoying because half the computer is the GPU, the other half is the CPU fan, under the gpu is the HDD and 1/4 the mobo, under the cpu fan is the CPU and the ram, the PSU is somewhere in their. BUt I've only ever seen the GPU side, and from what I'm seeing it isnt on that side, so like I said if you could just look up an Asus ROG G20AJ Ram replace or something like that and see if you could see where the CMOS is that'd help, just wondering.

Ah nvm just looked, it is right next to the CPU, this is gonna be interesting.

I've found out what motherboard I have; and honestly the way they designed it is so stupidly stpuid (in my case) also I looked at it and where the cmos battery is, is right under like, the PSU or something!

Whao wut?.....When Does the Gpu get free power from being in the Pci?
PCIe3 can deliver the card with up to 300w the 1050 only uses 75w.

Hm yeah I have a problem, the CMOS battery is in a very hard to reach place, but I've also heard that you can move the RAM to the other slot might also work
put in your old card ..boot get and run DDU

remove old vid drivers
shut down PC

install new GPU boot it ..install new drivers clean for the 1050 ti

also consider buying a new 1080 P screen if your still gaming in a low end one or a old CRT
