Just spent about $1,000
I got some new hardware and i'm not done yet.

- New case - BitFenix Prodigy Arctic White Mini-ITX
- New motherboard - ASUS Mini-ITX ROG STRIX Z270I Gaming (M.2, DDR4 ready!)
- New CPU - Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz
- New Memory - CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4
- New CPU Cooler - CRYORIG H7
- New 250gb Samsung EVO m.2 SSD

I be transfering over from current build:
- Corsair TX750M PSU
- 2 x Samsung 250gb SSD's
- ASUS STRIX gtx980ti 6gb

I will soon be replacing the 980ti with a 1080ti once ASUS comes out with their version. I will also be adding a Samsung m.2 SSD because they are cool as hell!

What are your thoughts on the build? My goal is to be able to max GTA5, Watch Dogs 2 and hopefully Dishonored 2. I only have a 1080p display now but will be getting a 1440p display in the future, I am not into the whole 4k craze and I don't feel it's worth the performance hit and the tiny text is hard to read.

I decided to go with an i7 build over Ryzen due to this being a pure gaming PC. And the benchmarks have shown the 7700k to be the best pure gaming CPU out now and the cost isn't too bad honestly, was like $320.

No CPU cooler?
I'd keep the 980ti for now - more than good ebough for 1080p.
The stock one will serve me fine, I do not plan to OC besides the "OC Genie" or whatever this new motherboard has. I got a aftermarket Corsair cooler for my current 4770k and never OC'd it besides to 4ghz with my OC genie. I tried to do it from watching some youtube videos but failed terribly.

And with the 980ti I can't really max new games and still get 60fps at 1080p. I can't max GTA5 and Watch Dogs 2 runs pretty badly with this GPU.

I know ppl will probably say going from 4770k to 7700k isn't worth it but I wanted DDR4 and I wanted this sweet motherboard and a smaller Micro-ITX case,I figured the performance jump going to the lga1151 socket with the 7700k was worth it.

Also the "good" 1080ti probably won't be out for a while, so I have some time to wait and save more $ then I will sell the 980ti for like $250 or something

Hmm good idea but 7700k doesn't ship with any stock cooler as it was ending in trash cans after users buying the processor.
What do you mean? All i7's come with stock coolers, That is why the box is the size it is lol the cpu itself is super tiny =P

Except K series which is especially bought for overclocking and people were not using intel stock cooler on that chip so Intel decided to put only the CPU in the K series box in last 2 gens. So you have to buy an aftermarket cooler.
Edit: If you check the image of the box you will see its rather rectangle shaped so if you compare it with an haswell box you will realize box is not square like which would give you an idea what's going on there.

Really? My 4770k came with a cooler?

Yes read my edit as i said if you compare it to an haswell box there is big difference between two. The last 2 gen CPUs like 6700K , 7700K does not come with cooler.
Well FML, back to newegg then...

Any recommendations? I don't need anything fancy. But I need to to fit in that case and that tiny ass motherboard.

Well if you are looking for short term solution. It looks like case supports tower coolers so you can buy Hyper 212 EVO which will do pretty well untill you get your money for better.
This one? - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&cm_re=coolers-_-35-103-099-_-Product

Will it fit my motherboard and BitPhoenix Prodigy case?

EDIT: Looks like it!

I am happy I posted on here instead of waiting for all my stuff to get here and realizing I NEED an aftermarket cooler then have to wait another week >_<

Yep it does indeed. But in long run you should look something better in my option.
Even if I do not plan to OC? At least much of an OC? Seems like that one will do me just fine honestly. I feel like the beefy coolers are for ppl with wanna go like 5ghz

Well up to you if you are satisfied with the coolers performance it's totally fine. And you can always replace fan so that's another plus.
Edit : there's also cryorigs cooler which i think is better deisgned and bit better in terms of cooling, but kinda bulkier than EVO https://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=9SIA4UF2DZ6565

Dammit you made me cancel the order for the cooler =P I need the BEST option you think that will fit this specific case and socket type. What do you think?

7700k on itx still needs decent cooling, and dont forget about vrms.
There was a larger version of the noctua L12 that might be interesting, or check if the D14 fits.
