First of all, I'm sorry if I posted this to the wrong sub forum.

Hey, I'm looking to greatly upgrade my PC from the specification I mentioned.
The catch is that I want to upgrade the most important components to have the end goal of Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or better.

I already have to upgrade my POWER SUPPLY for that and I don't know about my MOTHERBOARD

It would be helpful to confirm if you have the SFF or Mini Tower model first, as the SFF model only supports low profile video cards, which will severely limit your upgrade potential. That said, I'm actually not sure the Mini Tower supports a full size card either.

Upgrade the GPU to either a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 480 8GB, if you want to spend a bit more money then a 1070 would good card to get.

I looked it up and it seems that it's an MT Tower Model

Yeah, but for that I need to already upgrade my POWER SUPPLY and potentially other hardware.

If someone could recommend some parts or at least the specifications for the parts, I would be thankful.

Get a decent 500w-650w PSU and an RX 470.
That'll keep you in budget.

Later on you can get an i5-7600/7600k/7500 or Ryzen 1600X/1600/1500X and the necessary motherboard and RAM when you can afford it.

you cannot upgrade power supply in that system because it doesnt have 20/24pin power connector on motherboard it is dell proprietary connector (8pin sensing)

i would suggest either a 1050ti (a bit faster than gtx 960 --75w) or gtx 1060 (not overclocked 120w) problem with oc edition is they need more power and some have tdp raised in bios

Shouldn't I upgrade my MOTHERBOARD before my GPU ?
Also, I would prefer to have an Nvidia Graphics Card.

That's something at least. You don't have a lot of room in any direction. In particular there is almost no room between the second expansion slot and the bottom of the case. That could make for some interesting air circulation.

Still, if you upgrade the power supply you might be able to fit a 1060 in there. I would strongly recommend asking in the Hardware and Operating Systems forum first.

You really want to be upgrading the power supply as 290w isn't enough for any decent graphics card. Though you might just about get away with a GTX 1050ti with your current one.

Trouble is that your motherboard uses a proprietary connection for the psu (it doesn't use a standard atx 24pin connection) making upgrades a whole lot more difficult. Typical Dell.

If you can use normal ATX power supplies and if long ones doesn't fit then get something like the EVGA G3 550 and then a GTX 1060, RX 480 or GTX 1070 or whatever. Or AMD RX Vega or whatever it was supposed to be called once they have released that.

Ok, so you're saying that I can keep the case but I have the upgrade the MOTHERBOARD and the POWER SUPPLY, and then the GPU ?
