is it difficult to maintain a liquid cooled gaming pc?
im not sure im gonna buy one but if i do my questions are.
does a prebuilt come with liquid already in it?
do you use special coolant or just water?
how often do you change it?
is it loud? (keep in mind loud gaming pcs do not bother me so i dont care if its noisy)
i read articles about what if the coolant spills on your hardware. that scares me can this happen?
is it hard to change the coolant or water? i never owned one.

Heh quiet is not my priority. WIth PWM miracle letters heh. I almsot always use Deltas. Only hear it during stress test or heavy file compression or decompresion

If you're providing the fans, get a Noctua NH-D15. It's got the best heatsink of the three.

i was thinking of buying a ibuypower liquid cooled prebuilt gaming pc. do those require me installing fans or can i just plug and play and not worry about overheating?

iBuypower are a terrible brand. They use the lowest quality parts on the market to save money, often at the cost of performance and safety. I've known them to use unsafe Power Supplies that pose a fire/shock hazard and undersized CPU coolers that cause overheating problems almost immediately.

Avoid them at all costs.

another question i had, if i buy a new gaming pc which ever one it is what about steam? can i create a new account on my new computer is that ok or against the rules? i would just transfer everything from this computer to the new one if and when i decide to buy a new gaming pc. but i have no clue how to do that. would someone please explain that to me please?
GTsimms 2017 年 2 月 25 日 上午 3:05
If using the same account on another PC yes and you can stream from another PC like Steam link. But, you cannot transfer anything from one account to another. Yes you can backup games or as long as it is installled on a HDD. It will discover files and app cache.

You get subzero temps but need heavy duty cooling for the hotside of the plate. Ppl used to do this over a decade ago, might still do it now.

Ohh yeah now I remember, french woord, PELTIER COOLING
If you set it up/hacked it to run subzero temps. You need to waterproof things to deal with condensation. Reviews I read over the years always described as more of a gimmick than a well functioning cooling system.

The current V10 only turns on the peltier when the CPU is running really hot, functioning as a regular air cooler most of the time and never reaching subzero.

@OP: You watercool for three reasons:
  1. You're an enthusiast
  2. You want a quiet system (you don't care)
  3. You want to overclock heavily (you don't strike me as having the expertise)

Quiet System: Fans only get noisy now, if running closer to max speed. The only noisy fan that I have is a Noctua 3000 rpm at the back of my cases. But, it can be reduced by fan control in bios or mb software. Overclocking CPU/GPU more than 1-2 GHz can result in some instability Issues. Which CPU is not going to provide much for gaming. I had a 3 fps increase in heaven benchmark from an FX-8350 to a 7700k with GTX 1070. So your GPU is key. When I got the thermaltake kandalf lcs, I assembled the loop and plugged into another 4 pin for testing on another PC for about 1 day for leaks. I went though a few CPU and mb changes with no leaks. So, if done right it can last and no worries!

You should probably start a new thread and get up-to-date information. This thread is from 2017 and that 7 year span covers some monumental shifts in PC gaming tech.

How innocent I was - how naive we all were in 2017. I was 19 and still living with my family. I thought I had my life mapped out, and never once considered how the world might change. Instead we had a catastrophic natural disaster in late 2018 and then the global Coronavirus pandemic. Coming back here after that, at 26, happily married for 2 and a half years (I'd sworn I'd never marry...) and working in finance (I thought I'd become a doctor) is such a surreal feeling.

I wouldn't change a thing. But. It's a weird feeling seeing the overconfidence I used to have knowing the disasters that were about to occur.
