Can you get surround sound with the Razer Kraken Pro V2 regular edition (not the 7.1 surround sound one)
Ok, I know that it sounds like I'm answering my own question in my own question, but I want to know if I can get surround sound for the Razer Kraken Pro V2 through Razer Synapse. I went through the list of optimizations and I only see the old Razer Kraken/Pro on the list. Does the Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 have built in surround sound or is it virtual? if it is virtual, I will probably get the Razer Kraken Pro V2 supposing that I can find an optimization on Synapse. Thanks!

The PRO v2 is 3.5mm Analog

2 physical Drivers (speakers) + Virutal Surround is better anyways for headsets.

Specs of the 7.1 V2 (USB)

Frequency response: 12 Hz – 28 kHz
Impedance: 32 Ω @ 1 kHz
Sensitivity (@1 kHz): 123 dB
Input power: 30 mW (Max)
Drivers: 50 mm, with Neodymium magnets
Inner ear cup diameter: 56 mm / 2.2 in
Connection type: USB Digital
Cable length: 2 m / 6.6 ft
Approx. weight: 346 g / 0.76 lbs
Frequency response: 100 Hz – 10 kHz
Signal-to-noise ratio: > 55 dB
Sensitivity (@1 kHz): -38 ± 3 dB
Pick-up pattern: Active noise-cancelling (available on PC Only), unidirectional MEMS boom
PC / Mac
Windows 7 / Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher)
Internet connection for driver installation
At least 100 MB of free hard disk space

If you are using headsets on PC; then you typically can do 5.1/7.1 on all headsets, through virutal surround. Which is why the USB do them, cause these have their own audio chips that allows that.

If you have sound card from Realtek, ASUS, Creative; you have ability to do Virutal Surround with all 3.5mm headsets. Its just a software logic switch.

DO NOT confuse headsets of any kind, with doing actual 5.1 or 7.1 with muliple physical speakers to make up the surround sound; they are not comparable. Using stereo headphones and enabling Virutal Surround, just ensure that Movies and Games that are outputting in 6 or 8 channels of audio, can actually all be heard with Stereo speakers/headset.

Overall, USB headsets are poorly powered and typically all junk.
3.5mm is better when you already have decent onboard audio or sound card.
USB is better suited for Consoles or Laptops.

Wow, thanks for all the info! It kinda surprised me learning that the 3.5 mm audio jack ones are actually better in general than the USB ones. Would you recommend me getting the cheaper option? If you need more info about what I would use it for just let me know. Thanks!
