DualShock 4 Not Recognized After Waking PC from Sleep
I have been using a DualShock 4 for my steam gaming and noticed that if you boot the PC from sleep (which then goes into big picture mode) and then try to turn on the DualShock 4 in most cases it will not be recognized properly. I have my DualShock customized to display the blue backlight and after turning on the controller it will default to a white backlight instead. When trying to use the controller in this state steam will not recognize the controller. To get around this I seem to have to turn it off and back on again until it is recognized which I can visually tell when it has the proper backlight displaying and steam will display a notification saying it sees it. Is this just a bug or is there some "proper" way to get the controller recognized after waking from sleep?

How is it connected; wired or wireless?

Best bet is just don't use Sleep Modes.
If you are going to leave the PC on, then just do so.
CPUs/GPUs go into very low power states when idle anyways.
So do any/all Secondary Drives.

I've been connecting it wirelessly. I'll look into your idea of just keeping the PC on. I'm hoping Steam will turn the dualshock off automatically after a few minutes which would be nice.

There is a workaround for this. If steam doesn't automatically recognize your DualShock 4 you can initiatlize it manually. In steam big picture you would go to settings > controller settings > select your DualShock 4 > click initialize.

Still wondering why the auto-detect on the DualShock is hit or miss when booting up the PC from sleep...
