Case cleaning?
How often should it be done, ideally?

As got a new computer recently (about a month ago) but haven't dusted it yet since doing so would require breaking the warranty sticker.

Just wondering if once/twice a month be good enough or should it be a weekly thing?

6 months is fine for me. Unless you live in some extra dusty place you dont really need more, just some occasional dust filter cleaning as needed inbetween if you have dust filters on fans.
Also prob not really good idea to break the warranty sticker unless you really need to swap out or add some component, some companies can be really uptight about this.
One of the perks of building your own is that you dont have stupid stickers like this there.

As often as the dust builds up; just check it every once in a while; you know how often your Rooms and Vents in your home get, so use your own judgement to check inside your PCs.

A dust blower comes in very handy for this. But I always do them outdoors when I blow them clean. If you must do it in-doors, have a vacuum cleaner ready to also cleanup the mess that will occur from doing this in-doors. If you have a Garage or Basement, that might be best; instead of your Bedroom or Living Room.

Is dust blower safe to use for cleaning PC ?
The one that looks like a mini leaf blower, I have one that uses electricity and it blows really strong. I heard some said it would damage some components because of statics or something like that.

use compressed air

Hm, good replies here.

And i guess it varies, having two cats i should clean it sometime this month, even if it voids warranty.

Always used can of compressed air, but are there alternatives to those?

i suggest getting extra air filters. i have a few extra hepa filters (non electro static) around my case.

the best is compressed air. i use 2 so i can alternate bursts without the cans freezing up.

I use the "mini leaf blower" style electric blower to clean up my PC(which I have to do every 3 months). Haven't seen any kind of damage to the components.
Those blowers work like a charm and get the cleaning done in a matter of minutes, depending on how powerful they are.
Compressed Air blower is also good, but will take more time than an electric blower. And also has limited uses. Also lacks range and volume.
So if you want precise cleaning of certain sections, use the compressed air blower. Otherwise use an electric blower.

My case has filters. I open my tower every 30 days and do a quick cleaning. With the filters... There is very little dust. Also, look into buying a datavac. Great product!

Filters have made a huge difference ... It's about as clean as it was when I built it. But the environment it's in is also really clean. No pets, no smoking, etc... And those two factors are huge.

Yes, having two cats kinda has the sideeffect that they fur up everything, which one of the reasons i'm queuerying case cleaning advice.

Filters, computer should be up off the floor. If the environment is relatively clean, every few months is a good idea. When blowing it out, make sure you hold the fan blades with your finger or pencil, etc... So you don't damage them.
