Single-Link DVI Cable however is capped at 1920x1200x60Hz
Dual-Link DVI port + dual-link cable can do up to 120Hz at 1080p; with an overall max supported res+refresh at 2560x1600x60Hz
So if you are using a Single-Link DVI Cable, thats why you're seeing a "cap"
Get a nice Dual-Link DVI-D Cable w/ Ferrite Core; this can be DVI-D to HDMI in a single cable; or DVI-D to DVI-D male to male; depending on your needs.
