New Headphones computer didnt read them

I recently bought the Logitech G230 headset. With this i bought your basic audio adapter. On my old laptop this worked and my control panel picked up the headset and i was able to switch my default setting to my new headset. However, on my new lenovo y700 it didn't pick up in the control panel. I have windows 10 so it gave me a notification saying i had plugged in an audio device. However when i went to change my default setting my headphones and microphone didn't show up. My lenovo y700 has 1 headphone jack and thats why i bought an adapter. So why is this happening. These are BRAND NEW i got these literally 30mins ago.

Also if i need to update my drivers could you show me how to do it for free? Maybe one comes with lenovo?

Just go to Lenovo website > Support and in the Search locate your Laptop model, from that it should list latest Drivers & Software for it, pay attention to which WinOS they are for as well.

Which audio adapter? If the device is not USB, there is nothing for it to pickup.
Analog Speakers and Analog Headset are the same thing; they basically are the same device, just that Laptop Internal Speakers should Mute whenever you plugin a Headset/Headphones.

Playback = Analog Speakers (Realtek HD Audio)
Recording = Mic (Realtek HD Audio) < This does need to have a change to default, otherwise your Webcam's Mic is the default.

Its not picking it up my microphone is plugged in says its not plugged in

Download the Audio driver, run it, and let us know if it fix the issue.

I don't think Driver is the issue; its your Adapter.
Y700 has 2-in-1 Audio Combo Jack (4-pole 3.5mm)

You need an adapter like this:

for Headsets w/ Mic or to plug in separate analog Headphones & Mic

Ok so both of u guys have great ideas im definitely going to buy an adapter so please show me a good quality one on amazon. Also i have the Y700-15ISK. I looked at the link and their are so many things to download. Could you please show me which one is the best?

I linked it already. They are all basically the same; when its the correct one.

Headset (with dual plugs, headphones + mic) --> 2x 3.5mm 3-pole Jacks -to- 1x 3.5mm 4-pole Jack --> Laptop/Phone/Tablet (or other devices that use the 2-in-1 jack)

i honestly think the driver thing was a bad idea and i want to go back to my original drives. However thanks for the help im going to get an adapter if that doesnt work then im stuck. Anyway if you have a way to reset drives please contact me. 1 more thing would be whats better the Y shaped adapter or the "box" kinda shape.
