The DSR feature adds downsampling resolutions to your system's resolution list. The highest default DSR factor just happens to come out as 4K. Games assume the highest available resolution is the system's native one, that's why they select it on first launch.
i just checked the DSR thing and everything was already unchecked.
ive had a few games this year automatically set the resolution to an obscenely high setting making them unplayable, but most of those were fixable by going to bordered/borderless mode which than unlocked UN-psychotic resolutions.
im playing on a LG HD-TV that has a pseudo 4000k res which can be toggled but its basically just a gimmick like the old 3d glasses ready thing a decade ago.
Is there some way to block games from auto detecting high resolutions?
I have to set the resolution to 1920x1080 each and every single time i first launch a game for the first time and then once set close and completly come out the game, rewboot my pc (since everything on my desktop and the show hidden icons has like enlarged 4x over) to fix any crap that happened and it is getting rather annoying.
I checked the DSR and there all OFF, my monitor is set to 1920x1080p but still launching a game for teh first time ♥♥♥♥♥ it all up. Once set it launches fine after that (unless there is a huge massive update to the game then have to set resolution up all over again) reboot and then launch and play
I am wondering if it could be the Geforce Experiance application causing any of this crap?
I checked my GeForce Experience app and hunted down the games I was having trouble with on my home page, turns out if you hover over your game, press details, and click on the wrench next to the revert button on your right you can set the preferred resolution for the game.
This is part of GeForce 'optimizing' your experience. Hope this helps!
should work, atleast it did for me
