Also what PSU do you have? You can find out by opening the side of the case, and looking for a small box with wires coming out of it, there will be a label on it, tell you the brand and model.

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/778/AMD_Phenom_II_X2_550_(rev._C3)_vs_Intel_Pentium_Dual-Core_G4560.html
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp%5B%5D=332&cmp%5B%5D=2925
The dual core from intel G4560 which can go for $70 - $120, double the performance of your Phenom II x2 550, so to put it simple, you won't gain much FPS, if you upgrade the GPU, unless you get a much better CPU.
Your motherboard should have a core unlocker in bios so try to unlock the extra cores ie x4 and see if it runs stable if it runs stable get yourself a gtx1050ti if it doesn't run stable just start over with a G4560/1151 mobo/DDR4 gut swap if you're on a tight budget you can reuse everything else ie hdd/psu/case and so on.
i can unlock cores but its very unstable like my computer just turns off no warning just turns off
What would be your budget, if you have one?
well i was looking at the gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3Hp with a amd a10 7700k processor
Then you should just start over with new cpu/mobo/ram.

Use that ^ to search around for parts, decide between the G4560, i3 7300, i5 7500 or even the i7 7700k if you're going for the long haul upgrade.

Random benches ^.
AMD Ryzen will come out soon on, or before March 3rd, but prices are unknow, and I have a feeling that the prices are going to cost just as much for Intel, or more.
nothing against intel but its more exspensive for new mobo that supports intel and new proccesor + i would need new ram..........
i might just go with amd then in the futur after i have some time to save up a few bucks i will upgrade to intel
Intel is a much safer option, the current Kabylake series are an update of Skylake which has been around for more than a year. They're battle-proven chips, very reliable and very powerful. Given the massive question mark hanging over Ryzen, I would go with proven/trustworthy Intel and save myself any potential risk.

Also that would be a waste of money IMO, if money an issue, I highly recommend saving up for a while, instead of throwing money on multiple hardware replacements. Not only you be saving up, but as well not wasting money, you be able to see benchmarks, or come back to ask the question how good is Ryzen, when compare to Intel, when they come out on, or before March 3rd.
Kinda terrible idea.
That would cost you a LOT more money in the long run. You would have to replace your Motherboard, CPU, RAM and CPU cooler for AMD. And then do it again to upgrade to Intel. That's going to add hundreds of dollars for a wasted upgrade.
The G4560 is 4 threads it's a hair under the i3 6100 and the i3 is up and down from an FX8350.
I would not touch an amd FM2+ or any amd apu cpu.

A bunch of games to go through cpu performance and the Athlon x4 don't do well at all.
