Bad fps with the rx 470

Amd said that the 470 could run most games at 60 fps, 1080p and on high settings. but for some reason my 470 cant run hitman on the lowest settings on 1080p. it cant even run minecraft. does anybody know what i can do to fix this. its really troubling me as i spent quit a bit of money on this gpu.

I have gone onto the website and dowloaded the new drivers before and had even wiped all old drivers and re-installed the new ones. still no fps improvement

your cpu is barely over minimum requirements.. your gpu meets recommended.. for hitman
but you shouldnt have a problem with minecraft though

But you are limited with what you can get on that motherboard, which may not be much better.

yeah your kinda limited to what you can use on fm2/fm2+ if you could oc that might help a bit... but the gpu if its working correctly is pretty good... rx 470 beats a r9 380 by a pretty decent margin and r9 380 beats gtx 960 as it is

That CPU is not that bad .

I would run GPU-Z and look for any performance cap .

Overheating , virus , malware , background process and etc.

Make sure your monitor is plugged into your gpu not your motherboard.

Other then that amd cpus are crap. There gpus are also not the best, the nivida gtx 1060 beats the rx 480 aswell as the 470, a i5 6600k, 6500k 6400k, beats your cpu by a mile aswell.

I think im not sure but i think your cpu is bottlenecking your gpu.

there is literally a 2% difference in favour of 1060 vs rx 480 in directx 11 games with new amd drivers

and 6% in favor of directx12 for rx 480 vs 1060

average value through multiple games

Well i was told the 480 drops bellow 60 more then the 1060. Besides all amd cpus are crap trust me ov had amd and intel. A low end $70 intel cpu could run freakin minecraft at 80fps yet the amd store bought pc could not run minecraft at all keeping in mind both of those desktops have/had no gpu. So i doubt there gpus are any good either.

Im never going to go back to AMD ever even if you payed me to.

1. There is no such thing as a 6500k or a 6400k
2. The Rx 480 is on the same level as the 1060 on DX11 and beats it on DX12 thanks to the Relive driver updates.
