Surround is irrelevant when purchasing a headset. There are only a few few actual surround headsets and they are garbage. You only have so much space inside the cup, so having a bunch of smaller speakers has many drawbacks and the seperation isn't good. The headsets you are looking at are stereo using simulated surround, which is how most of these "surround" headsets are, which can be done with ANY stereo headset/headphones.

I'd also give you advice to get headphones and a mic, over a headset. These gaming headsets are typically overpriced for what you get and are usually of cheap quality. Typically, you can get a better headphones and mic setup over a headset, dollar per dollar.

Headsets are Stereo
Back before on headfi the general idea was that getting regular stereo headsets and then use virtual surround algoritms was the way to go for the best sound. There could possibly be some exception, at-least you'll get larger drivers and likely better stereo/music performance if nothing else.

I don't know if you speak virtual surround or actual surround standards, my knowledge of the later is basically that DTS had a higher bitrate and possibly better bass or something than DD but that was back in the 5.1 era and then I know Dolby Atmos came which I would assume could had replaced all the old stuff with all its channels and support for lots of speakers... But supposedly that wasn't good enough because I think DTS or something released their own "even more"-version over that.

My friend have the G933, I've got the impression they should be good but I haven't noticed anything special with them.
A non-IRL friend have the Siberia 840 or whatever ~3500 SEK headphones but I haven't used those so I have no idea.

I haven't listened to the good stuff but chances are I'd buy something like the Sennheiser HD 599, Beyer-Dynamic DT770/880/990 or similar and a separate microphone. For a mouth-piece you can get the Mod mic (3 omni-directional?), a lavalier ("mosquito") microphone but also do things like using womic from Google Play with your smartphone or so.
