Hello Everyone. So I have a friend at zotac that gave me the Spectra LED Lighting System Fix and I wanted to share it with all of you because I know this is a hot topic and it was really big trouble for me too!
BACKSTORY:
So about a week ago I purchased 4 Zotac 1080ti AMP Extreme Graphics cards from 2 different local shops in Hong Kong China. When I installed them into my rig I noticed that 2 of the cards the LED Spectra was working and the other 2 cards was not... This made me go down the rabbit-hole of troubleshooting the issue, checking forums... blah blah blah for about 3 days. Finally I gave up and was going to RMA the 2 cards that where not working.
SYMPTOMS:
My Cards symptoms where like this: Video Cards worked perfectly (performance wise) I was able to see the video cards in Firestorm and also Nvidia Inspector. (seams not problems) just the Spectra tab was greyed out an the 2 cards (i had 4) that where not working. Each of the video cards has a very small blue LED on the Top of the back side of the video card. On 2 of my cards this small led was blinking (Spectra MCU Running State) and on 2 of the video cards the LED was solid On state (Not working Spectra Units)
SOLUTION:
Because I live in Hong Kong China, when something breaks... you can just take the card to someone who can really fix it. I eventually met a technician who was very well aware of this Zotac issue and he was given a MCU Firmware fix from Zotac that can fix this issue. He told me that zotac does not know why this problem exists.. but they did make a quick and simple fix to get it working again! Its not a bios problem or a connector problem or anything like that... is really faulty firmware from some of these early released cards.
WARNING!
Things to make sure before you rung this software!!!
Make sure you only have 1 video card plugged into your machine when you run this program. If you are running some onboard video graphics cards, thats OKAY. Just don't try to run the software with more then 1 card installed otherwise you can have problems.
Program is super simple. Just click the "fix button" and the program flash's the Graphics Cards Onboard Dedicated MCU for the Spectra Lighting.
Thats it!
I hope this helps everyone here. I spend 3 days of my life pulling my hair out on this issue!
I am sharing this because I was lucky enough to find "that chinese guy" and he help me and I want to share with all of you! I hope this helps someone! If it does please share your experience.
Good Luck!
