GTX 1080 Ti display adapter
The display adapter that comes with the 1080 ti doesn't support 144hz. What cable should I get?
I have a zowie benq xl2411z. It has to have DVI-DL for my monitor and displayport for my gpu.

I don't think my monitor supports displayport actually, I just checked. Should I get a dvi to displayport adapter?
The GPU should come with a DP cable, which fully supports 144hz (and higher).

This is a situation where you should have figured out if the rest of your system was up to the task. Your monitor is old and not up to the task, as it does not have DP.

To use the older monitor, you'll need a Display Port to DVI-D adapter or cable.
You have the best gpu on the market... Time to get a monitor to match.
DVI-DUAL LINK can support 144hz 1080p just fine.
Displayport can support 144hz 1080p just fine, but your monitor doesn't have a displayport, so just get a DVI-DUAL LINK cable.

Take your pick, but please DO NOT USE ADAPTERS!!!

The 1080 Ti doesn't come with any DVI-D ports.

In the case of the OP, he will need to either use an adapter on an existing cable or use a cable with an integrated adapter. Either way, he has to use an adapter for it to work on his older monitor.

OP shot himself in the foot for getting a founders edition, also if he has to get an adapter, he have to make sure it will support the bandwidth, and not some cheap knock off product.

Considering he has not mentioned having a specific AIB partner card or DVI-D port on the card, we can only assume this to be true.

Even if it was a founder's edition from an AIB partner, most of them at least come with a Display Port to DVI-D adapter.

The adapter is already DP to DVI-D; of course it supports 144hz

You're just not configuring that correctly in your OS; do everything regarding Res or Refresh, via NVIDIA Conrol Panel, not from Windows OS "Screen Resolution" (Display Properties)

Actually it does; just not the FE version; seriously, who buys the FE versions...

Oh look, a DVI-D

Honestly; it's time for a new Display; you can't even utilize a 1080 Ti since you on "low res" 1080p; it will never be used very well; you'll be lucky for anything at 1080p even maxed out with AA forced to 32X CSAA/TXAA + Super-sampling; to touch that GPU above 40% or so.

I already stated this in the next comment I made.

Oh look, the rest of the conversation...

Clarification was made through the conversation. No need to be so sassy, mate.

So can someone link me a dvi-d to displayport adapter that supports 1920x1080 144hz? I literally can't find one and I don't feel like buying a new monitor when it's not actually required.

if there is some but DVI isnt normally good enough to get enough data through so you switch to HDMI 2.0b cable or Display Port cable as those are the only 2 which can handle the amount of data for sure.

What 144Hz monitor doesnt have DP or HDMI 2.0b? those are the only standards able to handle the amount of data with USB-C

My monitor can do DVI 144hz just fine if that's what you mean.

only with a sepcial dual link... And my 1080 Ti doesnt support Dual Link DVI...

I mean with my old graphics card that had a dvi slot and the dvi cable that came with the monitor, I could do 144hz on just fine.
