i7 7700k compatiblity with 1155 LGA Socket in Gigabyte B75M-D3H motherboard.
So, my CPU needs an upgrade as it is still stuck on a 3rd gen CPU... so I need to know if I am gonna need to get an entirely new motherboard or if it's OK... for now.

Nope. You need a LGA 1151 socket motherboard, meaning Z270 or B250.

far more money as you also need a new cpu cooler and DDR4 RAM as the 1151 Motherboards are not compatible with the old DDR3 RAM that the 3rd Gen. used. And on top of that you might need a new Win 10 license if you have an OEM version.

Most LGA 1155 coolers will work on a LGA 1151 motherboard. The issue is if his cooler can support a 94W CPU or not.

There are 1151 Motherboards that run DDR3 RAM, you need a BIOS update to be compatible with Kaby Lake though.
Yes and Intel warned about it to do so because there is a high risk of damaging the CPU and as Intel isnt the company that really sells RAM i would believe that warning.

No because there has never been any reported case, people use DDR3 with Skylake, a lot. Also DDR4 XMP go up to 1.45V which is above the 1.35V Intel said, for certain RAM kit.

Pick up a used 1230 v2 or i7 3770 those will carry you for a while yet.
