Xbox 360 Controller - Detached Rumble Motor

To preface this with what I was doing in the first place, I had disassembled my controller in order to replace its worn out thumbsticks and damaged button membrane.

Once I was done with that, I had noticed upon reassembly that the red cable from one of its rumble motors had detatched from the circuit board, presumably my own fault, since it was my first time disassembling my own controller and I might not have been careful enough.

Now, I know what I need to do to fix it (I just don't have the tools), but what I'm wondering about is whether or not it's safe to continue using the controller in the mean time. I already know that everything else with the controller works, but I'm concerned about that red cable just hanging about in there close to the circuit board. I'm not tech-savvy, so I'm not aware of the consequences (if there are any) of just leaving the rumble motor partially attached like that.

It is safe, just disable that motor (or both) for the time being. They each have a small plug.
Yes if the wire came off and is now bare, you're gonna need a soldering iron to fix that, or help from someone who has one. Not a huge deal, you just wont have any Rumble feedback.

Probably best to disconnect both motors from the controller, so as not to have a bare wire touching anything possibly once closed up. You just won't have rumble and the controller will feel extremely light in-hand. Everything else should work normally, if none of that is damaged.
