If you are updating a driver and one is already present, uninstall everything NVIDIA (or use the DDU APP and do a clean via safe mode); then install the latest driver suite fresh after a reboot; once everything previous to that has been removed.
If you use Geforce Experience, set its option to "Notify of updates only"
Then you can take your time and pick/choose when is the right time to update, if you even need to.
connect necessary power cables to the nvidia gpu.
turn on computer.
check for correct date and time.
launch nvidia driver installer.
We're gone over it many times, how to use it, etc...
It's very easy and much quicker then uninstalling GPU Drivers/Software.
Or you can even look through here:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/badmotha/posthistory
and forum search (or even CTRL+F to browser search a page) for things like DDU since I have covered it many times.
For further help, yes please post your PC Hardware Specs & OS.
To share those easier, install and run app such as CPUID CPU-Z or Piriform SPECCY
Either is fine, although Speccy is more in-depth with what it shares, like installed Drivers and Software. Then do VALIDATE or PUBLISH and share the provided web URL address in here for public sharing of your specs. It won't disclose any personal info.
Once Safe Mode loads up and then the DDU app, select each of the 3 brands, then click "clean but do not restart"
Once all 3 are cleaned out, restart normally.
Once back to Desktop, disconnect LAN cable or Disable WiFi...
Then install the following, reboot after each...
Intel Chipset INF[downloadcenter.intel.com]
Intel HD 4000 Series GPU[downloadcenter.intel.com]
NVIDIA GeForce Mobile Series GPU[www.geforce.com]
Disable Win10 from ever grabbing Drivers from WU too.
that is a button there.

This is my other problem
Hi I have done some research and found this source which tells me what to do if I can't find Nvidia in Device Manager but I followed it to the letter and now I am quite worried that I may have permanently deleted Nvidia from my laptop. Do you know if this can be fixed?.
Here is link to site https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/fix-nvidia-graphics-card-not-showing-device-manager/
As shown in the image below the Nvidia graphics card is not listed anywhere and I can't find other/unknown devices on there only my Intel Graphics card is shown under display adapters. Also I deleted the whole C: Nvidia folder and then chose it to be installed at the default location however when I went to device manager nothing showed up. I do remember following a solution online which told me to uninstall the Graphics driver from Device Manager as well as Control Panel, if this is the case is there a way I can get it back like with a command prompt etc as it is no longer under device manager.
Cheers for your help so far.
