Replace PSU
My PSU a 12 month old Corsair AX860i has failed on me (either powers off mid operation or doesn't power on from cold boot at random times and behaves this way on two different PCs).

So I'm looking for a decent replacement, I know RMA is the obvious option (*) but I'm also going through a thread of recommended PSUs on Tom's Hardware. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

For Tier 1 list the EVGA 750w / 850w P2 looks good to me. Having similar dimensions is important too as it needs to fit a Silverstone Grandia GD09 ATX case. Are there any concerns on relability of EVGA units? I should have heeded the forum comments on the high rate of RMA of this Corsair model I seem to remember before purchase but there were aslo plenty of comments praising it.

What do you guys think? A worthy replacement?

Thanks for reading.

* Owner of two other Corsair PSUs so I like to change brands. Even my low ball VS450 has outlasted the AX860i...and gets more use

RMA the Corsair, but in the mean time if u need good one; look at BeQuiet and SeaSonic; pretty much anything Gold Certified would be plenty; 550-650 W or better
Ok thanks. I'm looking through the vendor's list on Seasonic. I understand they actually also manufacture for other branded PSUs.
Toms Hardware isn't the most reputable place for power supply suggestions. Go to JohnnyGURU.
Oh right good thing I asked here then...
the evga got a great review on jonnyguru. all of the tier 1 power supplies are going to be good.

This, don't go by some "tier" list made by Joe Blow.
Thanks for the advice guys. Information gathering to make an informed choice.
