Will a Noctua NH-D15 fit inside a Corsair Carbide Series 400C Mid-Tower?
And were there any complications in installing it, for those who have done this?

Your case isn't the only factor for that heatsink to fit, there's also your motherboards VRM heatsinks height, and your RAMs height. I'd check with PCPartPicker to see if the heatsink will fit in the case though.
I have both those parts, the NH-D15 and the Carbide 400C. It will fit if you have normal-sized RAM. Space is tight as the 400C is a smaller midtower, so plug the fans into the headers before you install the heatsink.

I've got a MAXIMUS IX CODE, and Vengence LPX (2x8GB). The RAM is quite low but the size of the Damn cooler does make me wonder if it'll fit.

Yeah I was planning on putting it all together first and then mount it on the bracket. How close does it get to the window panel?

I have the Vengeance LPX too, so you'll be fine. It about as close to the window as you can get without touching, but it does still fit. I used the 400C for about 6 months, but it's actually sitting on my kitchen table now waiting to be reassembled and sold on Craigslist. I put 2 expensive Fractal 140mm intakes in the front, but it never cooled the GPU as well as I wanted. I put my build in a Silverstone Raven 5, which has 180mm bottom intakes and blows hot air out the top, and now temps are 15 C cooler on GPU and 8 C cooler on the CPU. It's still a solid case though, so if you're not after top notch air cooling performance, it'll get the job done and look cool (I had the white one).
If you're worry about the cooler you can either:
Swap 140mm front fan for 120mm fan for extra clearance.
Or swap to NH-D15S for extra clearance and same performance.

Depends on the GPU the fan clip from NH-D15 can hit the backplate on the GPU in first PCI-E slot. NH-D15S corrects this, but should only happen when you have ultra fat GPU (I can think of a few).

I've got the ASUS GTX 1080 08G. It is quite thick though so I'm not sure it would fit :S
Nah that should be OK. Something like Colorful GTX 1080 Ti Vulcan OC with LCD Display will probably scratch the heatsink fin/fan clip. Triple slots GPU.

The NH-D15S though you got no fear for GPU/RAM at all, quite generous gap for those.

Oh good good. I'd have been quite livid had I gotten this amazing cooler and have it not fit, would have been awful. Thanks for the inputs, that's a load off my mind :)
