NVIDIA Graphic Cards Difference Question
Hi, I'm looking for a new laptop and here is my question: Is there really a notorius difference between a NVIDIA Geforce 940mx (1GB) and a NVIDIA Geforce 940mx (2GB)? sorry if is a noob question but in my country the difference to each other is like 100 dolars, really worth it? the RAM is 8GB in the two instances, I heard from a seller that the video card borrows RAM a little memory, I think the maximum is 4GB but I'm not sure, cheers

There is no 940MX with 1Gb VRAM, that doesn't exist. There are however different models of 940MX and I'm guessing the one more expensive is based on GM107 which is more powerful than GM108 940MX (even though the later can have up to 4Gb VRAM and newer).

Only integrated graphics like Intel HD borrow system RAM because it does not have VRAM.
Hey, thanks for your reply, but I will leave this links for laptops that says that have NVIDIA Geforce 940mx of 1 GB:

Scratch that, they are approx 20% difference between the more expensive one. If that can justfiy your $100 then go for it.
If you're buying that laptop for gaming dont! It will struggle to play anything made in the last 3 or 4 years.
