Report a translation problem
If you turn something off and your monitor goes off it could be that you have a faulty connection. If it is a faulty connection you should get it fixed asap ( otherwise your house might burn down ). Or it could be that you have a old school wiring technique, but since you said the things are new that can't be it.
I would call a electrician if i were you.
It could be that your faulty connection is causing a serie connection instead of a parallel one, which is very dangerous. Just call a electrician, it's the safest option

btw I have eight Monitors here and four of them are almost always working.... this only happens with the ASUS VS248H since a few weeks now...
