i7 2600 70c at full load.
As title says my i7 2600 reaches 70 while at full load. (in prime95)

Why i'm worried is on intel's website it says the tcase is 72c.

And before you say it, yes i did change the heatsink. Before this it actually went to 82c.

If you want super high performance cooling option, the only way to go is liquid cooling. Not sure if you still wanna go that extra mile for a 2600k.

But as long as it doesn't give you a bluescreen while churning through Prime95 you should be alright.

ive hit 80 through prime95 and never bluescreened.. Whats the worst thing that can happen besides blue screening? (and i have a 2600, not K)

Tcase is not what you read
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

80C is fine, a bit hot. Especially if you aren't OCing anything. It's still under throttle temp. I'm guessing you have Intel stock cooler.

Do you even know what Tcase means?

You're probably confusing Tcase with Tjunction.

That CPU is fine up to 95 Celsius, if it bugs you let me know.

I wouldn't worry too much.

On an Asus mobo, if the i7-2600 gets too hot it can hang the pc completely or freeze the pc for a few seconds.

On reboot the bios displays a message " !cpu temperature error ". If the bios is on "high performance", then adjust target boost clock down. Or get a better cooling solution. Or put the bios into standard or low performance.

Nothing will heat up the cpu as much as Prime95 does. So if your pc doesnt explode while running prime95, it's fine.

Well I put my mouse over the little I icon and it said the max temp in the case or something...

What is the questions here? I see nothing.

Your temps are fine; You will know when too hot, cause the CPU will thermal throttle.
If not doing this, then it's not too hot.

Thank you : best info I read about this.

@Bad_Motha : according to this credible info, the recommended max is about 85C (as 85 is too close the the max/throttle mark and temperature can jump up/down 10C fast). If you hit 95C often, the CPU will get older faster and might bluescreen.

70 is a long way from 85
Overall it doesn't matter, the system will shutdown if gets too hot anyways.
