You all changed my life
where do i find the key needed for windows 10 installation?
Download the Media creation tool from the Microsoft website. It can found here[www.microsoft.com]. Then use the media creation tool to download and mount the Windows 10 installation files on a flash drive. Then once the tool is done run the .EXE file to start the upgrade to Windows 10. But doing a clean install is adviced; to do a clean install go in the the BIOS and boot from the flash drive.
Systems that have Win 8, 8.1, 10 pre-installed, you most likely do not have a Microsoft COA Sticker. For those systems, run SPECCY and look under Operating System once all that info is done loading, the key listed there should be your WinOS key for the currently installed OS. Highlight it, copy and paste to a text file and put that someplace safe, like on flash drive or backup HDD. Or simply right it down so u have no digital files someone can get the key from.
However if you have Win 8.0 you may need to update it fully to 8.1 first; then see if your key changes at all. If the Win10 is for that same system, u could just install Win10 as Upgrade and then activate it. Once activation is success, backup any files u need off there, wipe C drive clean and do a fresh install of Win10; just please remember to use Win10 64bit, always. Unless it's a very low end Netbook w/ less then 4GB RAM perhaps, no real reason to use 32-bit OS.
