i5-4460 with 10 Series GPU.
I'm considering upgrading from my GTX 950 to a 10 series GPU in the future. Will a GTX 1070 bottleneck with my current CPU?

If so, will the 6Gb version of the 1060 bottleneck as well?

Nope the CPU is fine. Do make sure you have 16gb of RAM when you upgrade to a 1070 or 6gb 1060. And do not buy the 3gb version of the 1060.
Look out for the 1060 6Gb 9Gbps. The new version 9Gbps is only available in top end cards (MSI Gaming X+, ASUS ROG Strix, Gigabyte Aorus and so on) so it's pricier, but it's better for obvious reason.
Apologies for the necro, but I want to be sure I won't have any issues with a 1070 and my CPU.

you should get a more powerfull CPU if you get a 1070. The difference in processing power between a 1060 and 1070 is huge.
Reckon that the GTX 1060(The 6GB one) will last a long while? I'm only aiming for 1080p60.

No way to know for sure. But I think the 1060 6gb will be good for at least 3 years.

You've got to look at the individual games and min fps, technically you should be comparing the GTX1070/GTX1060 6GB/Rx 580 8GB.

Depends on if your budget is care free too, personally I'd look at the Rx 580 8GB
It will bottleneck on CPU intensive games

Hm. Perhaps a CPU upgrade is in order. Are there any LGA 1150 socket CPU's that wouldn't bottleneck with the 1070?

I hardly consider hardwarecanucks review to be proper comparison. Super clocked is actually cheaper, lower clock model of EVGA despite the name. Their FTW is the better one. Guru3D or techpowerup did proper preview pitting nitro+ 580 against the MSI Gaming X+ 1060 and the result is very different. They even did manual overclocking comparison and the Nitro+ falls flat.

I7-4790K should work fine And it's an LGA1150(i think)

If it was me I'd get the 1070. There are plenty of videos on youtube showing the 4460 and 1070 working well together. And considering that gaming graphics are continuing to increase in complexity, it's more future-proof. Also, it is possible to limit the fps of a game using software such as rivatuner if cpu load is a problem.

The i7-4790K is almost top of the line cpu-wise, not much difference with an i7-7700k in most games.
Well, the GTX 1060 is a great card, but that CPU will be a bottleneck in the latest games! I have a i5 4690k overclocked to 4.3 Ghz, yet still Batman AK, Watch Dogs 2 & even GTA V in some parts runs like ♥♥♥♥, mainly because CPU usage goes to 100%. I have to upscale the resoltuion to 1440p and then it runs fine albiet at 40FPS, and much less stuttering. For 1080p, the GTX 1060 is a beast (I have MSI Gaming X) but for CPU intensive games, even an i5 is being a bottleneck!
Most games you'lll be fine in. Very few you'll possibly see a bottleneck.
