i7 4790K Heat issue
Original issue was the connector of the heat sink was stuck, now I'm having issues with temperature with my cpu.

I have used artic silver 5 paste and used the pea method, the temperature went from 51C to 90C in BIOS

no the stuck connector wont be the problem but the stock CPU cooler espacially if we talk about a 6th or 7th Gen i7. Also do you have a good airflow in your case?

Cant help you with the connector without actually seing why it is jammed.

Got it out, I used something smooth but hard to put force at the back of the motherboard where the pins are for the connector and then pulled it out.

Regarding with the temperature I have put the thermal paste back on, the temperature in bios went low from at least 51C then skyrocketed back to 90C

My case does have good air flow, my system temps hang around about 45C

Also I have noticed that I do get only once a millisecond blank screen every time I use the computer. It's completely random

What cpu cooler are you using? Are the fans spinning? Did you plug the cpu fan cable(s) back in when you reinstalled? Was the PC unplugged before you started trying to pry the connector from the pins? Did you damage any of the pins?

The pins are not damaged at all, they are still the same as how they were. I'm using stock cooler right now temporarily until I get a new cpu cooler. I did reconnect the cooler again. The pc was completely unplugged and turned off at the time I was prying it open.

All fans are spinning also.
I have opened a rma to intel. Hopefully when I get the new cpu, this problem won't araise.
Ok, so the cooling works, even if it's not the most efficient possible with the stock cooler. How about overclocking the CPU ? Did any ? Don't see anyone mentioning this...

I have disabled Intel Turbo Boost, before that I haven't done any overclocking as it would've burnt the CPU by now :|
You're having performance issues, so it's not just a wrong temperature report from the sensor.
You're sure that you applied the thermal paste correctly. Fans are working. Good airflow in the case.
Maybe you drew the short straw and the CPU itself has problems. I doubt that but...who knows ?
The only things I can think of that you might still try:
1. Update the motherboard's BIOS, if possible.
2. Check again if any of the screws holding the cooler's base pressed on the CPU is not loose. This could create an air gap between the two - inefficient heat transfer. I've seen it happen.
Other than this... Good luck! I'm sorry I couldn't help and maybe Intel can help you better.
Did you clean the old thermal compound off the CPU and heat sink before applying the new?

The motherboard is updated to its latest bios version already. I have check countless times the screws on the cpu cooler but it's fitted perfectly plus there's no screws that's interrupting the cpu cooler from being fit.

I don't know why but intel is taking a long time to view my warranty/rma request (it has a year and couple of months remaining) but today's the second day they didn't view it.

Yes I have clean out the old thermal paste using 99% pure alcohol, then I used the pea method to put on artic silver 5. I checked it again, the temps not going down but the thermal paste has spread nicely.
