just a question about HP Compaq 8200 Elite
Hi everyone

i have this pc

https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-compaq-8200-elite-core-i7-2600-3-4-ghz-monitor-none-series/specs/#p=hp-compaq-8200-elite-core-i7-2600-3-4-ghz-8-gb-1-tb-b8q23upaba/

and a geforce gt 610 and it works fine with csgo i get around " 90 - 70 fps " in low settings, so i will upgrade my gpu and ram so i can be able to play gta 5 and arma 3..... so what is the best gpu for this pc and its motherboard ? and i don't want to get 'bottleneck', and i want to know if i need to purchase new power supply for gtx 1060 or just get a 1050 ti without 6 pins,

waiting for your replies, thank you

check the wattage of your power supply.

1050 ti - minimum recommended psu is 300 watts.
1060 - minimum recommended psu is 400 watts.

if you need to buy a budget power supply, you can get an evga for $30-40. if you want something better you can get a seasonic for $40-50.

CPU in that system is fine; however the biggest issue with prebuilds is:
- poor venting / airflow / cooling
- poor or lacking power supply; might need replacing for GPUs above the average media GPUs; such as ones above GT-640/740
- ensure the power supply is ATX (24-pin main power cable + 4 or 8 pin CPU/EPS power) Reference: https://is.alicdn.com/img/pb/733/717/479/479717733_332.jpg ~ Some HP, Dell or others do not have ATX power supply, making them pointless to upgrade.

If you could look inside the PC Case and share the info off the Power Supply Unit (a good picture would probably be best, and easy to do) then we could determine if it really needs to be replaced.

Most pre-builds should be fine with using basically any dedicated GPU card that doesn't require more than 75W total, or more power via 6/8pin PSU connectors meant for GPU cards; but that is not always a given. Like some pre-builds come with maybe 180-350 watts... if it's around that lower range of approx 180-200 watts PSU, chances are it wouldn't support better GPU at all.
